Location: Henry Ford School-Based Health Center | Osborn High School

Inpatient/Outpatient: 100% school-based

Patients: 100% pediatric (ages 4-21) - primarily ages 13-19

Position Overview:

This full-time School-Based Health Pediatrics Advanced Practice Provider position at Henry Ford Health offers the opportunity to deliver comprehensive primary care to adolescents within a high school-based health center, in close partnership with students, families, school leadership, and the surrounding community. The APP will provide preventive care, acute and chronic disease management, office-based procedures, and health education, while utilizing evidence-based screening tools and diagnostic criteria to develop individualized, comprehensive treatment plans. This role requires comfort working collaboratively with an on-site interdisciplinary team, including a medical assistant and behavioral health counselor, as well as strong engagement with school and community stakeholders. The position is open to both experienced APPs and new graduates who demonstrate sound clinical judgment, strong communication skills, and proficiency with electronic medical records and evidence-based clinical decision-making. This role offers consistent weekday hours aligned with the school calendar, a supportive and mission-driven team environment, and a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on student health, wellness, and long-term community outcomes.

Schedule - Full-Time, Days. Monday - Friday, 730a-1600p (8 hours)

Qualifications:

* NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC)

* PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA)

* NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan

* PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Licensure and Certification

* Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application)

* National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA)

* Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

* DEA/CSL, required through credentialing.

o DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.

Department would work with provider to get certified after hiring as well.

* Experience in ambulatory setting Required.
