POSITION: Full-time, ten-month education specialist to serve as coordinator of University of Minnesota Crookston dual-degree programs: College in the Schools (CIS) and Post Secondary Enrollment Options (PSEO). Position reports to the Director of Institutional Effectiveness.

Position Description: CIS & PSEO Coordinator

Classification: Professional/Administrative

Reports to: Director of Institutional Effectiveness

Location: University of Minnesota Crookston

Position Summary:
The CIS and PSEO Coordinator provides leadership, administrative oversight, and student support for dual credit programs. This role ensures compliance with Minnesota Department of Education (MDE) regulations and NACEP (National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships) standards. The Coordinator manages the lifecycle of dual-enrollment students-from recruitment and orientation to registration and credit transfer.

Key Responsibilities

1. Program Administration & Compliance

  • Serve as the university's primary point of contact for Minnesota's PSEO and Concurrent Enrollment programs.
  • Participate in planning the direction of the program and related policies and procedures.
  • Attend professional development and keep current with developments related to CIS.
  • Ensure all programs adhere to MN Statute 124D.09 (Postsecondary Enrollment Options Act).
  • Coordinate the annual application and renewal process for partner high schools.
  • Maintain accurate records for state reporting and audit purposes.

2. Student Recruitment & Support

  • Conduct information sessions for prospective students, parents, and high school counselors across the region.
  • Facilitate the admissions process, including verifying student eligibility (GPA requirements and placement testing).
  • Oversee the orientation and registration process for PSEO (on-campus/online) and CIS (in the high school) students.
  • Communicate with, and answers questions from, potential and current students, instructors and school district administrators on issues of CIS application and registration processes, finances and technology.
  • Collaborate with relevant university units such as Admissions, Registrar, Student Success Center, disabilities services office, and Academic Technology Services.
  • Monitor student academic progress and coordinate intervention services when necessary.

3. Faculty & Partner Collaboration

  • Develop and maintain collaborative partnership with K-12 school systems.
  • Initiate outreach operations to community constituencies.
  • Develop and manage ongoing dissemination of information about policies, processes, and deadlines.
  • Analyze needs of participants and respond with appropriate program, educational services and resources.
  • Liaise between college academic departments and high school instructors to ensure curricular alignment.
  • Assist CIS instructors on topics related to course content and/or pedagogy.
  • Coordinate the credentialing process for high school teachers seeking to teach CIS courses.
  • Organize professional development "discipline days" for high school partners and college faculty mentors.

4. Data Management & Reporting

  • Manage dual-enrollment data within the Student Information system.
  • Utilize a variety of operating systems (i.e. UM Reports, PeopleSoft, syllabus manager, etc) to collect, generate, summarize and prepare reports.
  • Provide information to support collegiate and/or department decision makers.
  • Review and maintain policies and processes for program improvement and accreditation.
  • Organize and/or conduct annual workshops and other training.
  • Prepare annual enrollment reports and fiscal year projections.
  • Collaborate with the Business Office to manage PSEO reimbursement billing via the MDE portal.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field;
  • Five years of related professional experience;
  • demonstrated effective, professional communication skills;
  • able to work on campus in Crookston and travel to external sites as appropriate;
  • ability to navigate complex state regulations;
  • cultural competency.
  • Final job offer is contingent upon a complete background check and receipt of official transcripts.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in Education;
  • secondary classroom teaching experience, especially CIS teaching experience;
  • adjunct instruction and/or admissions counseling experience in higher education;
  • familiarity with higher education processes and procedures;
  • second-language skills, especially Spanish.
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $47,750-$60,000 (12-month equivalent would be $52,375.18-$110,790.66); depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 10-month Appointment
