Connect with a career that matters, and help us build a safer future.

Department OverviewBlue Eye Monitoring has a unique approach to providing security. We use our proprietary Blackbox technology to turn your existing camera network into an active security system. Your cameras become the sensors and our AI software embedded inside the Blackbox watches the property for threats while you are away. Once detected, an alarm is immediately sent to our command center where our highly trained Video Surveillance Technicians (VSTs) take over. Now a live person sees the property in real time to assess the situation and take appropriate action. Appropriate responses may be a verbal warning over the loudspeaker, calling the police or welcoming a resident home for the evening. Our approach of using both artificial and human intelligence allows for a safe and comfortable solution and all of this is done utilizing the cameras you already have installed.

Blue Eye was acquired by Motorola Solutions in November 2025. Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Architect to design, evolve, and govern Blue Eye's enterprise-scale data platforms. This role owns the architecture of data warehouses, data lakes/lakehouses, semantic models, and integration patterns that support analytics, BI, and advanced reporting across the company.

This is a senior, hands-on architecture role for someone who can translate complex business requirements into scalable, cloud-native data solutions, while establishing standards, governance, and long-term architectural direction within a modern Microsoft/Azure ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Data Modeling & Solution Architecture

  • Enterprise Design: Design and maintain the enterprise data architecture, including conceptual, logical, and physical data models for warehouses, lakes, and lakehouses.

  • Cloud-Native Solutions: Architect scalable solutions within Azure and Microsoft Fabric, focusing on cost optimization and high-scale consumption (100,000+ consumers).

  • Migration Strategy: Lead on-prem to cloud migration strategies that prioritize performance and business continuity.

  • Semantic Modeling: Design and optimize BI datasets, specifically Power BI Premium/Fabric environments, including programmatic lifecycle management via XMLA endpoints and APIs.

Governance & Integration

  • Data Governance: Define and implement metadata management practices, including data catalogs, business glossaries, and lineage tracking.

  • Pipeline Oversight: Design and oversee ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration strategies to ingest and transform data from diverse internal and external sources.

  • Standards & Best Practices: Establish reference architectures to ensure consistency, quality, security, and scalability across all data initiatives.

Leadership & Strategy

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate needs into technical data flows and reporting solutions.

  • Technical Roadmap: Provide leadership on data strategy, evaluate emerging tools/technologies, and contribute to long-term architectural roadmaps.

  • Mentorship: Act as a technical escalation point for complex design decisions and mentor senior engineers and architects.

Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 10-15+ years of progressive experience in data architecture and modeling.

  • Technical Expertise: Deep experience with Kimball dimensional modeling and implementing enterprise-scale warehouses and lakes.

  • Tooling Proficiency:

    • BI & Analytics: Power BI (Advanced semantic modeling), Tableau, SSRS.

    • Databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, Oracle Exadata.

    • ETL/Integration: Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, SSIS, Informatica, Logic Apps.

    • Modeling: Tabular models, Dataedo.

  • Cloud Platforms: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.

  • Communication: Strong ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both engineering and executive audiences.

  • Certification: PMP certification or equivalent architecture-led delivery experience is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading or influencing large-scale data teams (25+ contributors).

  • Experience operating across multiple domains (Finance, HR, Ops, IT, Supply Chain).

  • Proven track record of automating data ingestion, reconciliation, and governance at scale.

  • Experience designing metrics for customer experience (CSAT, NPS, CES).

  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute hands-on in Azure/Microsoft environments.

What Success Looks Like
  • Strategic Alignment: A clear, scalable data architecture is established and aligned with core business goals.

  • Operational Excellence: Reliable, well-documented data models and pipelines support high-scale analytics.

  • Visibility: Strong governance and metadata lineage are visible across all core datasets.

  • Efficiency: Improved performance and cost efficiency are measurable across all data platforms.

  • Standardization: Engineering and business teams are aligned around consistent data standards and definitions.

What We Offer
  • Impact: A high-visibility role shaping the long-term data foundation of a growing platform.

  • Influence: Direct involvement in shaping analytics and executive decision-making.
