A Day in the Life of an Infection Prevention RN This role leads the organization-wide infection prevention program, ensuring policies, practices, and surveillance meet regulatory and accreditation standards. The nurse conducts routine and targeted rounding, analyzes infection data, and partners with clinical leaders to reduce risk and improve outcomes. Work is highly collaborative, involving nursing, quality, surgery, environmental services, medical staff, and leadership teams. Regulatory readiness, reporting, education, and policy development are ongoing responsibilities that require strong organization and attention to detail. The position also provides occasional back-up support for Employee Health, balancing planned work with emerging issues and outbreaks.
