Description
Position Definition The Engineering Supervisor holds a "lead-by-example" role that is primarily hands-on with targeted administrative responsibilities. This leader is accountable for engineering results, service improvements, and team productivity. By demonstrating consistency in values and behavior, the Supervisor builds strong relationships across the department and the Resort to ensure a culture of accountability and excellence. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Leadership & Supervision
- Team Oversight: Supervise and monitor Engineering Associates (Levels I, II, and III). Ensure the effective use of time and work habits to complete all tasks in a timely, professional manner.
- Staffing: Manage daily engineering coverage; adjust schedules to accommodate extraordinary circumstances or special resort needs.
- Vehicle Fleet Management: Monitor daily vehicle inspection reports for damage, mileage, and compliance. Ensure timely oil changes, tire wear checks, and associate adherence to Resort vehicle policies.
- Training: Instruct staff by sharing technical knowledge and utilizing the Engineering Training Library. Participate in off-site training as directed by management.
Technical Maintenance
- Guest & Public Areas: Perform and oversee repairs, including plumbing (unclogging drains, toilets), hardware, electrical (lamps, switches, outlets), HVAC adjustments, and cosmetic room maintenance (painting/finishing).
- Life Safety Systems: Maintain a thorough working knowledge of fire alarm, sprinkler, and emergency power systems. Monitor systems and lead the engineering response during emergencies to protect guests and assets.
- Tools & Shop: Maintain an organized and clean shop. Ensure all tools are lubricated, secured, and returned to proper storage. Manage assigned tool pouches at the discretion of management.
Operations & Safety
- Project Management: Plan and execute building improvements using project management techniques. Ensure all materials, methods, and practices meet local and national codes and Resort specifications.
- Energy Conservation: Identify and report opportunities to conserve energy and utilities throughout the Resort grounds.
- Administrative: Interpret safety documents (Lockout/Tagout, MSDS). Read and log meters, gauges, and measuring units; maintain a detailed daily log to ensure seamless shift handovers.
- Accident Prevention: Adhere to Job Safety Analysis (JSA) standards. Immediately report and correct hazardous conditions, accidents, or injuries.

Employment Standards & Requirements
- Technical Expertise: Must act as an independent mechanic, able to analyze problems and formulate plans for quick, high-quality resolution.
- Language: Ability to speak, read, and write English; must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Composure: Maintain professional composure in high-stress situations; adapt to last-minute changes and communicate effectively with other departments.
- Availability: The Resort operates 24/7. Flexibility to work various shifts, weekends, and holidays-and potentially more or less than 40 hours per week-is required based on business demand.
- Compliance: Must have and maintain a valid Driver's License.
Physical & Mental Requirements
- Strength: Regularly lift 10 lbs; frequently lift 50 lbs; occasionally lift/move up to 100 lbs.
- Stamina: Ability to walk, sit, and ascend/descend stairs as a daily routine.
- Vision: Must have normal vision or corrective lenses for detail-oriented work.
- Teamwork: Must demonstrate a strong sense of "TEAM" and can work alone without supervision when required.
