Role Summary: Reporting to the Executive Vice President of Kendall Electric, the General Manager is responsible for total market performance in accordance with company policies and procedures, including sales, operations, and profitability, while also playing a key role in the ongoing development of our people. This role oversees Sales Managers, Territory Managers, and Location Managers to drive organic growth in the region.

Exciting work you'll do:

The essential duties and responsibilities of the General Manager position will consist of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute regional strategies, goals, and objectives in alignment with company-wide initiatives and processes.
  • Financial Oversite and Accountability: Assume responsibility for regional Profit & Loss (P&L), ensuring financial performance aligns with company objectives.
  • Team and Talent Development:Lead, mentor, and grow team members by providing clear direction and fostering a culture of belonging, recognition, and continuous improvement.
  • Sales Leadership:Offers strategic and long-term sales guidance for both the region and the electrical division.Staysinformed on market trends andprovidesfeedback on potentialinitiativestomaintainand expand our market presence.
  • Operational Excellence:Manage and drive performance outcomes, ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures andacustomer-centric approach.
  • Supplier and Stakeholder Relationships:Build andmaintainimportant relationships with supplierpartnersin localand regionalmarkets to support business growth and operational success.Engageexecutive leadership whenappropriate tonurture and expand partnershipsand break down barriers.
  • Continuous Improvement:Lead and promotecontinuousimprovement efforts, fosteringongoinglearning anddevelopmentfor oneself and the team.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:Collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, and Business Development to support regional initiatives. Actively work with other regions, divisions, and Shared Services.

What you'll need:

  • Work Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in electrical distribution, wholesale distribution, or a related industry, with a proven track record of driving sales growth and/or operational performance, and a demonstrated history of building and developing teams and leaders.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, management, supply chain, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
  • Analytics/Computer Skills: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, with the ability to leverage data and reporting tools to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively, maintain attention to detail, and drive initiatives forward across multiple teams.
  • Cross-functional skills: Ability to work effectively across the company, partnering with other General Managers, Shared Services teams, and leaders in other Business Divisions to drive alignment, share best practices, and achieve company-wide objectives.

  • Physical Environment: Normal office environment; occasional warehouse, fabrication environment and exposure to moving equipment
  • Travel: Up to 20% travel, occasionally overnight

Skills we prefer but don't require:

  • Work Experience: Experience leading and developing managers and leadership teams; demonstrated experience leading multi-location operations
  • Education: MBA or advanced business education, strong understanding of electrical products, supply chain dynamics, and construction or industrial markets
