Communications Specialist

Scheduled Weekly Hours:

Emplify Health (formerly Bellin Health and Gundersen Health System), a large and growing health system, is seeking a Communications Specialist to join our dynamic team. We are looking for strong, creative writers with AP Style familiarity and experience writing in a healthcare setting and/or for marketing or media relations.

The Communications Specialist creates compelling, accurate content across multiple platforms to support organizational storytelling and engagement. Working closely with department leaders, team members, and cross-functional partners, this role produces tactical communications materials that advance organizational priorities. The Communications Specialist ensures consistent brand voice while delivering timely, engaging content that resonates with diverse audiences.

Responsibilities Include:

• Strategic Project Involvement: Develop and execute communication plans for complex, strategic projects

• Internal and External Communications: Write, edit, distribute, and measure highquality content including articles, news releases, social media posts, newsletters, talking points, and other materials

• Brand Stewardship: Strengthen and align the organization's brand and tone through communication efforts

What You'll Need:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field

• 3-5 years of professional writing and communications experience in healthcare, corporate, agency, or nonprofit settings

• Demonstrated portfolio of published articles, news releases, and multiplatform content

• Experience collaborating with diverse stakeholders-including clinical staff, leadership, and operational teams-preferred

• Healthcare communications experience strongly preferred

What's Available:

• 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)

• Hybrideligible role; must be willing to participate in regular onsite meetings and events in the La Crosse, WI and Green Bay, WI areas
