Summary:

The People Operations Coordinator plays a crucial role in supporting our purpose of creating lasting value for those we serve by performing a wide variety of administrative functions to support the People Operations responsibilities within the business. The key areas of focus for this position include but are not limited to new employee-owner onboarding processes, benefits administration support, employee feedback survey administration, fielding employee-owner and leader questions/requests, supporting compliance activities, records retention and management, Human Resources Systems (HRIS) administration support, and contributing to the overall success of the People Operations team by assisting in many of the day-to-day operational functions. This individual is seen as a champion for the company and sets an example by promoting our culture, our 5 P's and our purpose to create lasting value for those we serve.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Provide general and project support for the People Operations team
  • Support all areas of People Operations: recruiting and selection, onboarding, employee benefits, compliance, employee records, workers compensation, learning & development, and health and wellbeing
  • Facilitate the new hire onboarding process including applicable communication, new hire paperwork, i9 employment eligibility verification, and employment file accuracy
  • Serve as the HR liaison for payroll
  • Update the HRIS system with all employment changes and distribute changes via applicable procedures
  • Initiate necessary documentation for applicable changes to ensure employee-owner employment file accuracy
  • Facilitate annual Feedback Survey process and manage Top Workplaces award communication
  • Initiate, review, and track exit interviews and results
  • Maintain and distribute details for referral and tuition reimbursement programs
  • Complete employment and unemployment verifications as needed
  • Provide support on compliance initiatives and required reporting
  • Enter injury reports and provide administrative support for workers compensation
  • Provide administrative support for various employee benefits program enrollment and changes including health, dental, vision, life, accident, disability and pet insurance, employee assistance programs, and flexible spending programs
  • Maintain labor law poster accuracy in all locations
  • Field initial requests from employee-owners, leaders, and external contacts and direct their inquiry accordingly
  • Partner with the Learning and Development team to coordinate new employee-owner orientation and foundations sessions scheduling
  • Partner with Safety & Compliance to ensure pre-employment Department of Transportation requirements are met and driver files are compliant
  • Understand the needs of all members of the People Operations team to provide support as needed

Job Requirements/Specifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required, college education preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience with Human Resources or administrative work preferred
  • Basic understanding of Human Resources practices
  • Basic knowledge of employment law required
  • Project management experience preferred
  • Basic understanding of DOT compliance preferred
  • Strong computer skills including experience using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint
  • Ability to interact with others in a professional manner

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Consistent sitting, reaching, working with hands and fingers, talking, hearing, field of vision, working indoors with others and customer contact.
  • Frequent standing and walking.
  • Some lifting, carrying, pushing, bending and twisting, kneeling, and working alone.
