PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $26.35-$32.12 hourly. The full Pay Range is $21.65-$38.03 hourly. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. IMPACT YOU'LL MAKE:

As a Mortgage Loan Officer Support, you'll play a key role in helping BECU members confidently navigate one of life's biggest financial decisions-homeownership. By supporting Member Direct Loan Officers, you ensure mortgage applications move forward smoothly, accurately, and with care. Your expertise helps members feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout their mortgage journey, while your partnership with internal teams strengthens efficiency, trust, and growth across BECU's mortgage business. Every interaction you handle helps elevate the member experience and fuels BECU's continued success.

To join our dynamic team in this role, we require candidates to be residents of WA, OR, ID, AZ, TX, NC, SC, GA, or VA. If you're located in Washington state and within a reasonable driving distance to our Tukwila Headquarters (TFC), we encourage you come into the office on Tuesdays & Wednesdays each week.For those candidates that live outside the commutable distance to TFC and in any of our approved remote work locations, this role will be primarily remote. Remote or onsite, we are committed to ensuring you are fully engaged and included in our collaborative environment.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Mortgage Systems & Product Expertise: Build and apply a strong working knowledge of mortgage loan systems, underwriting, processing, tracking tools, and BECU's mortgage lending website to support seamless origination.

  • Loan File Accuracy & Completion: Re-key mortgage loans as needed, review applications and documentation for completeness, and ensure high-quality files by updating records, collaborating with Loan Officers, and connecting with members or partners to gather missing information.

  • Pipeline & Conditions Support: Review Notices of Incomplete Application (NOIA) and approval conditions, assisting in securing required documentation to keep loans moving efficiently through the pipeline.

  • Inbox & Documentation Management: Monitor Loan Officer inboxes for incoming documentation and correspondence, following up with members on outstanding application deposits and required items.

  • Rate Lock & Product Support: Lock loans in accordance with BECU policies when Loan Officers are unavailable, while maintaining in-depth knowledge of mortgage products, forms, and documentation requirements.

  • End-to-End Loan Support: Serve as a backup point of contact for all parties involved in the loan-from application through closing-ensuring continuity and clarity throughout the process.

  • Member Experience Excellence: Respond to member questions and requests promptly, helping set clear expectations and providing guidance at every stage of the mortgage journey.

  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with Mortgage Fulfillment, Support, and Loan Servicing teams to resolve issues during application, processing, and post-closing when Loan Officers are unavailable.

  • Document & Condition Follow-Up: Proactively track and follow up on outstanding documents and loan conditions to support timely closings.

  • Regulatory Knowledge & Compliance: Maintain current knowledge of federal and state regulations governing credit union lending, with a focus on first mortgage loans and additional awareness of home equity lending.

  • Team Support & Flexibility: Take on additional responsibilities as assigned, contributing to shared goals and operational excellence.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • 3 years of lending sales, processing or underwriting experience, including experience with conventional mortgage products.

  • 3 years of sales experience.

  • Comply with SAFE Act legislation, which requires annual registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • Experience with FHA, VA and jumbo mortgage products.

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Proficient verbal and written skills communication skills.

  • Proficient math skills, with a high degree of accuracy.

  • Ability to evaluate loan applications and support documentation.

  • Ability to perform income analysis, including the ability to analyze complex tax returns, including corporate, partnerships, and sub-s corporations.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of conventional and/or government lending guidelines.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of mortgage processing, underwriting and closing procedures.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory compliance.
