Summary:

North Carolina Children's, a new children's health system in North Carolina, will be the state's only academic health system dedicated solely to caring for kids.

The North Carolina Children's Foundation has the ambitious goal of raising the funds to build and support North Carolina Children's. TheOperational Project Managerwill report to the Foundation President and play a critical role on the small North Carolina Children's Foundation team, providing executive support and high-level project management to ensure organizational priorities are executed strategically and efficiently to advance the Foundation's mission. Flexibility, initiative, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are necessary for success in this position, as the Foundation is a new, but rapidly growing, organization.

TheOperational Project Managerwill define the scope, goals, and deliverables for early-stage Foundation projects, ranging from designing a governance framework for the NCC Foundation Board to developing accountability systems to track effectiveness, in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. The Operational Project Manager will develop full-scale project plans, financial plans, and associated communications. Ultimately, this person for the overall direction, coordination, and control of multiple, simultaneous projects consistent with NCC's foundation strategy, commitments and goals.Experience at an early-stage charitable foundation is preferred.

Responsibilities:
Project Management and Special Projects: Develop and manage the simultaneous execution of multiple critical workstreams essential to launching the North Carolina Children's Foundation successfully, including the development of project plans, goals, accountability systems, and internal corporate controls. Identifies needed resources develops project budgets, manages assets, and monitors budget through the year. Develop schedules and methods for measuring results while maintaining optimum working relationships with all key stakeholders.

Project Monitoring and Reporting: Responsible for program and project assignments working independently or collaboratively as appropriate to accomplish the assigned work. Anticipate and identify issues and proactively adjust plans to maintain momentum or mitigate risk prior to issues becoming critical. Organizes and manages all phases of the projects to achieve schedule, including cost and performance objectives, keep senior management informed of project(s) status and any potential problems or political concerns.

NCC Foundation Board of Directors Support: Organize and manage Board meetings, including developing the agenda, materials, and finalizing all meeting logistics. Builds systems to support compliance with Foundation governance and compliance policies and maintains accurate records.

Administrative and Executive Support: Serves as trusted advisor to the President, managing proprieties and facilitating decision-making. Coordinates Foundation President's scheduling, communications, and follow up on action items. Prepares requests for proposals at the direction of the President and supports planning for the build out of NCC's Foundations' back-office functions including operations and compliance functions. Conducts all necessary meetings to facilitate selection of project services and products. Assembles project team members and assign individual responsibilities and monitors project performance.

Communications: Plans and oversees the preparation and dissemination of communications related to the NCC Foundation. Communicates with top-level management, donors, external stakeholders, and functional area managers/directors regarding status of specific projects.

Strategic Analysis: Performs strategic analysis for the Foundations' various projects and develops objective means or status reports for assessing the status of the projects that are consistent with standard skills of project managers.

Stakeholder Management: Coordinates effort and manages relationships with the NCC Project team, donors, vendors, and contractors necessary for any projects.

* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Health Administration or related field or equivalency.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
* No licensure or certification required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
* If Master's degree, requires two (2) years of professional experience in project management related work.
* If a Bachelor's degree, requires five (5) years of professional experience in project management related work.
* If an Associate's degree, requires nine (9) years of professional experience in project management related work.
* If a high school diploma, requires thirteen (13) years of professional experience in project management related work.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
* Strong knowledge of project management techniques and tools required.
