THE ROLE:

An Associate Editor supports the team that publishes editorial content in sites, newsletters or apps. They will tackle a variety of projects. It is primarily a production job, but requires some editorial judgment.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Content Strategy:

  • Monitor and analyze site metrics to make recommendations to drive traffic or deepen engagement.

Content Creation:

  • Update and optimize existing stories
  • Suggest and research content ideas
  • Copy edit or research and provide metadata
  • Handle photos and video research needs

Content Production:

  • Build stories in CMS
  • Find ways to improve the on-page experience
  • Build newsletters

Cross-Team Collaboration

  • Communicate with other editors, answering requests in a timely fashion
  • Maintain awareness of show and marketing priorities
  • Make Product recommendations that enhance the editorial experience or process
  • Assist on technical trouble-shooting and solutions.

Other:

  • Handle administrative tasks such as contracts, invoicing or logging content in trackers

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:

  • 1-2 years publishing experience or more
  • Project management/organization
  • Strong communication skills
  • Familiarity with a CMS
  • Familiarity with SEO techniques
CompensationContract Hourly Pay Rate: $39.59
