Lead Data Steward
What you will be doing: This position executes on the tactical plan to deliver master, reference or transaction data that is accurate, timely, consistent, complete and trusted across the enterprise as "the source of truth" This position will play an integral role in the day-to-day operations, development and decision making in multiple domains.
This position will provide input into the tactical and strategic plan, provides day-to-day direction and carries out job responsibilities with minimal level of senior management involvement, , recommends, understands, and implements standards in a healthcare focused environment. May lead small teams for a fixed or variable period. Emphasis is on data integrity, process improvements, and conformity of information. Key Responsibilities Responsibility #1 - 40% Master Data Management:
Data Content & Collection - Populate data content per metadata, reference data, identifiers, responsible/ accountable for identification, classification & enrichment in multiple domains per tactical plan Standardization & Enrichment - Thoroughly understands processes to match data to master, reference or 3rd party data sets and enrichment rules for attributes Metadata Management - Defines and populates metadata, recommends additional metadata, publish usability Data Quality & Profiling - Understands, implements, recommends and measures (profiling) accuracy, completeness consistency, recommend tools/processes Data Standards & Practices - Has high level understanding, helps implement and enforce, engages with standard bodies and members, mapping one standard to other DM Framework & Maturity - Understands & adheres to framework, designs plan for new maturity level Data Security/Privacy - Provides input and knowledgeable of issues and concepts Data Governance - Creates data glossaries, dictionaries, and tracks lineage for any data spec in data governance tooling.
Responsibility #2 - 25% Relationships & Cross Team Collaboration
Interact with business to create and work towards KPIs, SLAs and exceptions, Initiate, recommend, and implement cross-functional team process improvements
Responsibility #3 - 20% Industry, Member, Supplier Engagement: * Skilled at engaging, participating with, and influencing industry/members/suppliers, and knowledgeable about data standards organizations Responsibility #4 - 10% System and Process Enhancements: * Provide input and approves recommendations * Effectively articulates to technical team and validates enhancements via User Acceptance Testing (UAT) * Support implementation of components of data management services for improving downstream application functionally and content Responsibility #5 - 5% Outreach
Required Qualifications Work Experience: Years of Applicable Experience - 4 or more years
Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
Preferred Qualifications Skills:
Highly proficient in data manipulation skills and strong attention to detail Problem Solving - discover root cause and develop plan for resolving Procedural documentation Data Stewardship Database Navigation and Querying - SQL, Tableau, GBQ, Databricks Microsoft Office - especially Excel Proficient with workflow applications Ability to leverage AI
Experience:
Industry classifications and standards such as UNSPSC, UDI, NDC, GLN, HIN, DEA etc. Healthcare master or transaction data

Premier's compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier's internal salary range for this role is $90,000 - $150,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
