What you will do: Develops, implements, and maintains EDPR NA's overall corporate and field Electrical Operations & Maintenance Program, including all Balance of Plant (BOP) electrical equipment and assets. Provides support for electrical system commissioning of new projects, oversight and coordination of BOP Electrical Equipment maintenance service providers, and the company's high-voltage (HV) electrical training and qualification programs.
- Leads the HV Operations Team
- Manage field BOP and HV maintenance programs
- Oversees work of, and coordinates with, substation maintenance service providers
- Assesses needs of and makes recommendations regarding HV Operations Team and directs recruiting activities as needed
- Assists with ensuring facilities' compliance with applicable NERC standards
- Implements and manages company's HV training and qualifications program
- Leads and provides support on non-routine, event assessment, and troubleshooting activities
- Ensures for and provides electrical, HV, and substation technical support to operating generating facilities, including constant on-call support
- Provides support on electrical design, engineering, testing, and construction activities as requested
- Supports and coordinates commissioning, start-up, and initial operating activities
- Managers and oversee the HV spare parts inventory and warehouse
- Performs HV switching and grounding of main and unit set-up (or down) transformers, feeder breakers, disconnect switches, and related components
- Participates in the engineering, design, and construction review processes, including review of collection systems, substation, and transmission line designs
- Develops and implements site betterment projects, including preparation of scope documents, exhibits, budgets, schedules, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs)
- Support and coordinates statutory periodic substation maintenance at company facilities in terms of OTOs and outage planning
- Oversees substation and HV audits, testing, and inspections of equipment in accordance with NERC requirements
- Coordinates and provides technical support on emergency and routine repairs that do not require specialized permits
- Oversees on-site training of staff to perform IR thermography, provides general HV training, and prepares other to operate on the collection system and substation equipment corresponding with their authorization level
- Interfaces closely with Engineering and Construction teams and external consultants to ensure proper design and operation of systems

What are we looking for:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- 8+ years of relevant technical experience; some experience in power generation preferred
- Necessary qualifications to operate HV equipment
- Expert knowledge of medium- and high-voltage substation electrical equipment, collection systems, protection systems, transmission design and operations, familiarity with relay/protection system fundamentals
- Direct experience with SEL family relays is preferred
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office software and database development and management
- Basic knowledge of pertinent industry standards and codes, including Institute of Electrical & Electronic Engineers (IEEE), National Electrical Safety Code (NESC), and American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
- Understanding of Microsoft products and/or complementing products (preferred)
- Competency in Analytical Problem Solving, Strong Communication, Customer/Partner Relationships, and Technology Expertise (preferred)

Physical demands & working conditions:
- Sitting/Standing/Flexibility: Ability to stand and sit for 8 or more hours when in an office environment
- Walking: Ability to walk .5 to 2 miles per day, including across unpaved and rough surfaces when on project sites.
- Speech/Reading: Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently and deliver a variety of instructions furnished in written verbal, diagram, or scheduled form
- Lifting: Ability to lift items weighing up to 10 pounds
- Vision/Hearing: Ability to understand a variety of instructions furnished in written, verbal, diagram, or schedule form
