Job Description




As a Security Officer - Flex Access Control in El Dorado, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a chemical and petrochemical location, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, issue and track badges, and support orderly visitor and contractor flow. You will conduct routine patrols, stay visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and use a computer or tablet to document activity and communicate updates. What You'll Do:

  • Provide customer service to personnel and visitors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying authorization and directing individuals to the appropriate location within a chemical and petrochemical facility.
  • Operate access control points by monitoring entry and exit activity, checking identification and/or visitor credentials, issuing temporary badges as applicable, and maintaining required logs and reports.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and Allied Universal protocols, and initiating emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including gates, perimeter routes, and nearby operations areas, while reporting unusual activity and security-related concerns to site contacts.
  • Perform routine security-related administrative tasks such as documenting incidents, completing shift reports, communicating key information during post transitions, and supporting investigations as directed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
