Join Ciena's Interconnect Team as a Technical NPI Project Manager!

Are you ready to lead the launch of world-class optical products into volume production? Ciena's Interconnect team, specializing in coherent optical components and pluggable modules, is seeking a dynamic Technical NPI Project Manager to drive the introduction of innovative optical products like XT and Nitro into production. Be part of a team that's shaping the future of optical technology.

How you will make an impact:

As a Technical NPI Project Manager, take charge of planning and managing new product introductions (NPI) from design through ramp-up at partner manufacturing sites. Collaborate with the Nitro Chip NPI Test and Process Team, Nitro Chip R&D, Ciena Prototype Lab, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs) to ensure seamless transitions and successful product launches. Your expertise will be instrumental in managing milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables while driving the program's success.

  • Lead crossfunctional R&D and Operations Engineering projects supporting new product introduction

  • Define project deliverables, schedules, and milestones in collaboration with crossfunctional stakeholders

  • Track Operations deliverables to ensure alignment with program objectives

  • Review project plans, communicate risks and changes, and establish mitigation strategies

  • Manage prototype builds in Ciena laboratories and at contract manufacturing partners

  • Coordinate production ramp activities with manufacturing operations teams

The must haves:

  • Education: Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Optical Engineering OR Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Optical Engineering

  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in Project Management

  • Knowledge of Optical and Electrical assembly and test engineering

  • Strong crossfunctional leadership and organizational skills

  • Effective problemsolving abilities and written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

  • Proactive, resultsdriven mindset with the ability to engage stakeholders

Nice to haves:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

Pay Range:

The annual pay range for this position in Ottawa is $110, 100 - $175, 900.
The annual pay range for this position in New Jersey is $165, 400 - $264, 200.

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
