We are hiring a Manager for our Building Materials Retail Store, in Medford, OR. The store sells accessory concrete and construction products to contractors, businesses and individuals in our market in support of Knife River's aggregate business. In this role, you'll be responsible for the overall management and financial performance of the retail store.



  • Wage Range: $75,500 - $83,500
  • Benefits: Full non-union company benefit program with bonus plan and company car.


Major Job Responsibilities will include:



  • Oversee the daily operation of the store including inventory, personnel and financial performance.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to both external and internal customers.
  • Procure, sell and manage store inventory to ensure financial goals are achieved.
  • Research and identify emerging market trends with a goal to enhance customer base and growth.
  • Hire, manage and coach personnel to create a positive "people first" culture.
  • Ensure staff are well-trained specifically in the knowledge of store products.
  • Schedule safety meetings and daily huddles in support of the company's safety values.
  • Assist with counter sales, phone sales, deliveries, as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications:



  • 5 years of retail store management experience.
  • Experience in a retail sales environment, specifically for construction materials.
  • Must have knowledge of concrete accessory products.
  • Experience with identifying and purchasing products.
  • Experience in inventory management and annual inventory audit.
  • Adept with Microsoft Office products.
  • Comfortable operating iPhone, iPad and can quickly learn and understand new applications.
  • Communicate professionally and effectively, both written and orally.
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift, climb, stoop, bend and carry various tools, parts and materials throughout the workday.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies, state and federal regulations.
