POSITION SCOPE

The Regional Safety Manager will partner with our four business segments to conduct hazard and risk assessments to identify site needs or opportunities to improve safety programs. Working with site and segment level leadership, you will design solutions to reduce those hazards and risks while expanding site knowledge and adoption of safety policies and culture.

PRIMARY DUTIES



  • Conduct EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Be a reliable and active business partner with each operating site to ensure collaboration and an aligned approach to mitigating risk and implementing solutions.
  • Drive implementation plan with strategic thinking and tactical initiative.
  • Maintain expertise in EHS regulations, laws, and industry topics.
  • Expand site level understanding and use of company policies and field service capabilities.
  • Ensure each segment has Job Safety Analysis (JSA) / Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) completed and a program in place for annual reviews.
  • Comply and promote company safety policies to ensure a safe workplace while observing MSHA Federal and State Standards
  • Develop and deliver EHS training programs to employees and contractors.
  • Partner with Human Resources to monitor and maintain the status of all workers compensation
  • claims and coordinate activities to minimize lost and/or restricted workdays.
  • Analyze incident data and trends, conduct investigations on accidents and near miss incidents, identify potential safety and environmental risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Responsible for updating current process for completing annual reports such as hazardous waste, used oil or manifest reports.
  • Establish guidelines governing the collection and maintenance updates of employee training records health/safety manuals, policies or handbooks, incidents/accident reports, or other documentation.
  • Assist with reporting and serve as a liaison for external agencies such as OSHA, EPA, MSHA, etc.
  • Be an integral role in client contractor safety management, including facilitating the permit to work program and issuing relevant work permits based on client procedures.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS



  • 5+ years of relevant EHS industry experience involving safety hazard analysis and mitigation, safety consulting or responsibility for overseeing safety programs.
  • Bachelor's degree including the fields of Safety, Environmental Science, Public Health, or equivalent experience.
  • CSP ASP or GSP ideal
  • Experience conducting workplace assessments to prevent injuries/ accidents and improve compliance.
  • Knowledgeable of Safety, Health and Environmental strategies and practices to reduce or
  • eliminate hazards and risks.
  • Current working knowledge of MSHA/OSHA regulations and industry standards.
  • MSHA training certification or ability to get certification required.
  • Basic project management skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • This position will require 50%-70% travel
