Mechanical Claims Specialist Position Overview We are seeking experienced automotive mechanics ready to transition from the shop floor into an officebased role. As a Mechanical Claims Specialist, you'll use your mechanical expertise to evaluate and process automotive warranty claims while providing clear guidance to dealerships and vehicle owners. This role offers a stable schedule, professional office environment, and longterm career growth opportunities. Key Responsibilities * Review and evaluate automotive repair claims using established warranty guidelines * Determine whether repairs are approved, denied, or require additional documentation * Handle inbound calls from: * Dealerships verifying coverage for required repairs * Vehicle owners seeking clarification on claim decisions * Vehicle owners requesting guidance on next steps for mechanical issues * Clearly explain claim decisions and repair processes to both technical and nontechnical callers * Use mechanical knowledge to assess vehicle issues and guide customers through the claims process * Document all claim activity accurately within company systems * Maintain professional, empathetic communication while resolving customer concerns * Collaborate with team members and leadership to ensure fair, consistent claim outcomes Qualifications * 3+ years of handson automotive or mechanical experience * Strong understanding of vehicle systems and repair processes * Ability to explain mechanical concepts clearly over the phone * Prior customer service or callcenter experience preferred * Comfortable using multiple systems while on calls (Microsoft Office, claims systems) * Detailoriented, organized, and able to work in a fastpaced call center environment * ASE certification a plus * Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred * High school diploma or GED required Work Environment & Schedule * Callcenter and office environment * On the phone most of the day * Training: * 2 weeks fully onsite (Deerfield Beach, FL or St. Louis, MO) * Followed by 1-2 months onsite before transitioning to hybrid * Hybrid Schedule: 2 days onsite / 3 days remote * Hours: * Monday-Friday: 8:00am-5:00pm or 9:00am-6:00pm * Saturday: 8:00am-3:00pm (typically once per month; overtime available) Why This Role * Transition out of physically demanding shop work * Consistent schedule with worklife balance * Opportunity for contract extension or permanent placement * Strong internal mobility within JM&A / JM Family Enterprises * Supportive, professional work culture with longterm career growth Experience Level Entry Level Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Earth City, MO.
