Responsibilities Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP is seeking a Counsel with 10+ years of civil litigation experience to serve as the chief of staff for a large and growing docket of litigation and pre-litigation matters for one of the largest technology companies in the world. This role would be dedicated to managing operations for a team that is litigating hundreds of dispute matters for a single client. Responsibilities include: (i) driving and coordinating matter management and budgeting for a large portfolio of litigation matters; (ii) developing docket management strategy as the mix of matters changes; (iii) driving innovation on the docket, including improving workflows and coordination among teams, and advancing creative uses of artificial intelligence; (iv) supervising and improving operations management (e.g., docketing, deadline tracking, and staffing); (iv) managing and improving data collection across the docket and delivering insights to Orrick and client teams; and (vi) interacting and communicating directly with the client and Orrick relationship partners. This unique opportunity will involve supervising a team of attorneys and non-attorneys who will assist you directly, as well as coordinating efforts of attorneys working substantively on the client's various matters. This role is analogous to serving as coordinating counsel in an MDL or other large-scale group of litigation matters against a single client. Qualifications Candidates should have extensive experience litigating complex civil cases, interacting with clients, and managing teams. Key skills and experience include: The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and possess exceptional interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. Compensation and Benefits The expected salary range for this position is between $250,000 and $450,000. Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
