Job Summary

The Senior Product Manager is responsible for owning and leading the product strategy and lifecycle for designated product lines, with a strong focus on profitability, growth, and longterm market success. This role drives crossfunctional alignment across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and key external partners to execute business strategies, optimize financial performance, and deliver differentiated solutions that meet customer and market needs. The Senior Product Manager serves as a subjectmatter expert and strategic advisor for assigned product lines.

Essential Functions



  • Lead the development, execution, and continuous refinement of product line business strategies and multiyear plans aligned with company financial and growth objectives.
  • Own sales, margin, and profitability performance for assigned product lines and associated general ledger (GL) codes.
  • Conduct and synthesize advanced market, customer, and competitive research to inform product positioning, pricing strategies, and portfolio decisions.
  • Develop comprehensive competitive analyses and value propositions, translating insights into actionable product and sales strategies.
  • Partner closely with Marketing to define gotomarket strategies, product launches, messaging, and promotional plans for new, existing, and emerging products.
  • Serve as a senior presales and solution resource, supporting complex customer projects through specification review, solution design, and development of bills of materials.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Account Management to align product strategy with customer needs, sales initiatives, and regional growth plans.
  • Identify, evaluate, and manage strategic vendor and manufacturer partnerships, including product roadmaps, pricing alignment, and joint growth opportunities.
  • Lead the design and delivery of technical and product training for internal teams and external customers to support adoption and sales effectiveness.
  • Utilize CRM and related tools to analyze pipeline activity, track opportunities, and influence strategic sales decisions within assigned regions.
  • Participate in and influence sales planning, forecasting, and product roadmap discussions, providing strategic guidance on customer needs, programs, and market trends.
  • Mentor and provide informal leadership to junior product managers or crossfunctional partners as needed.


Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, and 7+ years of progressive experience in product management, product marketing, sales, or a related commercial role; or
  • 10+ years of relevant experience working with electrical products, product lines, or solutions in lieu of a degree.
  • Demonstrated experience owning or influencing product line performance, including pricing, margin, and growth initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of market analysis, competitive positioning, and customerdriven product strategy.
  • Proven ability to collaborate crossfunctionally with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, and external partners.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Ability to travel regularly throughout assigned territory, including some overnight travel.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Previous experience leading, mentoring, or influencing product managers or crossfunctional teams.
  • Working experience within business systems (Solar highly preferred).
  • Consultative or solutionbased selling experience, particularly in a B2B environment.
  • Strong background in business planning, forecasting, and P&L or margin management.
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendor and manufacturer relationships, including pricing, product strategy, and joint growth initiatives.
  • Advanced experience working with customer relationship management (CRM) systems to analyze pipeline data, customer trends, and sales opportunities.
  • Experience supporting complex customer projects, specifications, or solution design.
