Specialist - Client Service Risk
Job ID: 107226

Do you want to work on complex and pressing challenges-the kind that bring together curious, ambitious, and determined leaders who strive to become better every day? If this sounds like you, you've come to the right place.
Your Impact
You will provide integrated case management and advice primarily on Client Service Risk (CSR) cases involving Alliances and Acquisitions (A&A) and the US Public Sector, with a particular focus on opportunities arising from engagements where McKinsey collaborates with a third party.
As part of the CSR function, you will deliver expert risk advice and guidance that enables McKinsey's most cutting-edge work while building and shaping a world-class risk management program.
You will liaise with consulting teams, firm functions, and practice leaders to facilitate risk and compliance processes and develop clear, holistic guidance. When necessary, you will help enable other key decision-making bodies to assess and protect against risks and determine a practical path forward within the firm's risk governance. You will support senior advisors resolve higher risk cases by, among other things, reviewing engagements; drafting clear, comprehensive, and concise briefings and meeting materials; and documenting outcomes. For low and moderate risk engagements, you will directly advise senior consultants on risk management and related best practices based on your substantive knowledge and professional judgment.
You will support the Global Head of Alliances and Acquisitions, and other senior advisors in the A&A and Civilian Federal & US Regional States spaces and may make substantive contributions through other means beyond risk advising (for example, policy reviews, operational improvements, and knowledge management).
You will be expected to radiate knowledge to others, and actively provide and receive feedback, helping to foster an inclusive environment focused on performance and health.
Lastly, you will contribute to awareness efforts around risk policies and compliance processes to drive engagement across the firm within the A&A and US Public Sector spaces.
You will have a primary focus on providing strategic, integrative advice to manage the multi-faceted and complex risks that arise when McKinsey collaborates with third parties (as a prime contractor, subcontractor or under separate contracts). To do so effectively, you will partner closely with and integrate advice from across firm functions (including compliance, conflicts, contracts, communications, finance, and legal) and 'cells' (practices, offices, new delivery models) to provide counsel on a wide array of risk issues.
You will build a reputation as a trusted advisor with senior colleagues and develop deep expertise in a priority and growing area of the firm.
You will be based in the United States as part of the CSR function with direct lines to our A&A team and the Public Sector Risk team (both part of the broader CSR function). CSR's mission is to enable client impact and innovation in a way that manages risks for our clients, people, and the firm. CSR is a globally integrated team with colleagues from diverse professional backgrounds including communications, consulting, government, and law.
Our function advises firm leadership on risks across the lifecycle of our client engagements, including client selection, management of work scope, and changes in operational circumstances.
This role reports to the Senior Client Service Risk Manager, Alliances and Acquisitions with an additional reporting line to the Senior Client Service Risk Manager, Civilian Federal & US Regional States.
