JOB DESCRIPTION

This role is responsible for owning, shaping and executing internal and executive communications and employee engagement strategies that inform, engage and inspire our community of 4,000 employees. The role provides trusted counsel and executive communications support to the Chief People Officer, as well as strategic leadership and execution of internal communications across the People organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Owns, evolves and executes the Chief People Officer's communications platform and strategy, serving as a strategic advisor and thought partner to ensure alignment with enterprise priorities.
  • Leads the development of internal communications strategies, materials and campaigns for company-wide initiatives, partnering with stakeholders across the enterprise on efforts such as our annual strategy rollout or large-scale culture programs.
  • Drives strategy, content and production of functional People Org. All Hands meetings (virtual, hybrid and/or in person).
  • Creates informative and engaging communications (e.g., key messages, all-employee communications, executive presentations, digital and internal storytelling content) to support the organization's business and cultural priorities.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to connect work across teams, leaders and initiatives, anticipating needs and elevating the Communications team's impact, influence and reputation.
  • Manages and develops a small team, setting clear priorities, providing actionable feedback and ensuring high-quality, timely delivery in a dynamic environment.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years relevant work experience
  • 1+ years supervisory or management experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Organizational Effectiveness, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Business or related field preferred
  • Insurance and/or health care experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, advise and coach senior leaders and navigate competing priorities.
  • Proven experience supporting complex, high volume stakeholder groups, with the ability to confidently prioritize work and enforce and refine service level expectations to maintain enterprise focus.
  • Ability to fluidly navigate between strategy and execution, developing high-level strategic plans, while also producing crisp, clear communications aligned to the broader enterprise narrative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment and comfort operating with autonomy in fast-paced environments, including the ability to make decisions independently and escalate strategically when appropriate.
  • Ability to bring structure, clarity and direction to ambiguous or rapidly changing situations.
  • Broad knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends, including the practical application of AI to improve communications effectiveness.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience in people leadership, executive partnership and team development.

Base Pay Information

The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental's assessment of the candidate's knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity.
Pay Grade 22. $92,500 - $200,400
