SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of Supply Chain Leadership - Supervisor, Supply Chain Supplier Purchasing is responsible for supervising and coordinating purchasing operations for the system, continually driving to improved quality and greater efficiency. Operational standards must provide a high-level of customer service and operational support to the caregivers and departments Supply Chain supports across BH facilities.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Orients, trains, assigns work, maintains work schedules, and evaluates performance of subordinate staff in keeping with established policies, procedures, and standards of practice in their respective areas of responsibility. Participates in the development and implementation of policies, procedures, and process improvements for their assigned Supply Chain area.

Identifies and develops operational improvement opportunities to present to Supply Chain leadership and key stakeholders.

Necessary skills include systems thinking, project management, excellent communication, adaptability to a diverse portfolio of work, attention to detail, and knowledge of commonly used Microsoft Office functions. Utilizes a collaborative team-centered approach to forming and maintaining positive working relationships. Participates and may lead in development and continuous improvement of Supply Chain processes.

  • Leads the team to review, redesign & implement process improvements to optimize efficiency of the Purchasing functions while exceeding customer expectations.
  • Coordinates the flow of work through an assigned area of responsibility.
  • Assists employees with work-related problems and resolves as they occur, such as authorizing priority or urgent payment requests, and rearranging priorities of work to accommodate needs.
  • Monitors and evaluates the work processed by Purchasing employees and ensures that established standards of accuracy are maintained.
  • Create metrics and tracking tools to measure improvements in day-to-day operations and in the quality of the services to our internal customers. Develop, monitor, and communicate department operational metrics and improvements.
  • Responsible for proper training of new/existing employees
  • In addition to the above supervisory responsibilities, regularly assists in performing a variety of duties within the department, such as customer service inquiries, match exception resolution, payment updates/maintenance, and compiling reports.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as required including duties of subordinates to assist with workload.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

  • Payment technology, ERP systems, Microsoft Office products
  • Communication skills (verbal, written, visual)
  • Proven experience leading teams
  • Critical thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving
  • The ability to exercise considerable independent judgment in the performance of supervisory duties.
  • An elevated level of people skills to effectively represent BH and Supply Chain in interaction with all levels of personnel within and outside the organization.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor Degree in Business or Health Administration, Legal, Finance, Clinical, Supply Chain or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Five years of related experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.

INDEPENDENT ACTION:

Performs and manages others independently within BH and Supply Chain policies and practices. Refers specific complex problems to leadership when clarification or guidance is required.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

Supervisory responsibility for up to 30 FTEs

Pay Range:

$71,136.00-$117,353.60
