Job Summary
The Associate Project Manager I supports construction and design projects by providing oversight and coordination throughout project lifecycles. This role focuses on ensuring projects are executed consistently and in compliance with contract requirements, quality standards, and established procedures. The position works closely with project management teams, contractors, and stakeholders to monitor performance, conduct quality reviews, and support both field and office-based project activities. Job Responsibilities
Support project oversight during design and construction phases to ensure compliance with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
Serve as a point of contact for quality-related matters across assigned projects.
Review and evaluate submittals, including quality work plans and quality management plans.
Conduct audits of contractors and project management teams to ensure adherence to roles and responsibilities.
Perform quality audits throughout project phases, including field inspections.
Review material inspection and field reports to ensure compliance with contract standards.
Identify, document, and manage non-compliance issues and track corrective actions.
Perform root cause analysis and support implementation of corrective and preventive measures.
Develop, maintain, and review quality procedures and documentation.
Manage project data and reporting within designated systems, including maintaining databases and generating reports.
Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to support project delivery and quality objectives.
Job Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, business administration, public administration, or a related field, or high school diploma with equivalent experience.
Minimum of 1 year of project experience.
Experience supporting or managing projects within construction or infrastructure environments.
Knowledge of construction processes and project delivery methods.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Willingness to work in both office and field environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain required safety certifications, including OSHA 30-hour certification.
Ability to complete required safety training for working in transportation or rail environments.
Work Experience
Experience in construction project coordination or project management preferred.
Experience in quality management or quality assurance processes preferred.
Familiarity with transit or infrastructure operations preferred.
