Senior Manager of Aircraft Materials Management

STS Engineering Solutions is hiring a Senior Manager of Aircraft Materials Management in Denver, Colorado. This is a leadership role responsible for material fulfillment, supply chain performance, and cost control across aircraft operations. Position Summary

This role is principally responsible for all material fulfillment activities to ensure required materials and services are obtained and delivered on schedule and at the lowest total cost. The Senior Manager will lead policy development, training programs, operational analysis, and inventory control across aircraft material services.

This position also owns safety performance, supplier management, and cross-functional alignment across engineering, maintenance, and supply chain teams.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage, monitor, and coordinate Safety Management System activities, including:

    • Development, implementation, and maintenance of SMS
    • Hazard identification and safety risk assessments
    • Oversight of safety risk controls and continuous improvement
    • Promotion of safety culture across operations
    • Advising leadership on SMS performance and required improvements

  • Ensure safety performance meets defined risk thresholds and operational standards
  • Ensure personnel are properly trained and qualified to perform assigned duties
  • Lead all Material Services activities for assigned Airbus fleets and MRO service providers
  • Interface with Engineering, Maintenance, Production Planning, and Quality Assurance to define material and service requirements
  • Ensure material requirements are communicated and executed across Material Planning, Purchasing, Repair and Warranty, and Material Services teams
  • Maintain visibility into total Material Services costs and identify cost savings opportunities, including warranty recovery and maintenance reserve optimization
  • Monitor service level performance and develop key performance metrics to measure and improve results
  • Establish training objectives and oversee execution of Material Services training programs
  • Develop and manage annual training plans and ensure documentation compliance
  • Manage MRO vendor evaluation and selection processes
  • Oversee vendor invoice approvals to ensure cost-effective material acquisition, inventory management, and logistics
  • Provide regular reporting on vendor performance and cost metrics
  • Implement inventory control processes including cycle counts and targeted audits to improve accuracy
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies and drive corrective actions
  • Train, develop, and manage Material Services teams including Coordinators, Managers, and Analysts
  • Oversee daily operations including material sourcing, purchase order creation, and delivery expediting
  • Drive continuous improvement across supply chain processes and team performance
  • Ensure supply chain policies and procedures are documented, deployed, and followed across the organization
  • Maintain familiarity with training requirements as defined in Section 100.03 Maintenance Training for Maintenance Organization Personnel and ensure compliance

Authority

  • Holds overall authority for Material Services Management and Material Specialists
  • Holds authority to modify applicable sections of the General Maintenance Manual through established revision processes
  • Holds authority over inventory control systems and processes

Qualifications and Experience

  • Must be available to work on site in Denver, Colorado
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Aerospace Management, or related field required
  • Minimum of five years of significant supply chain experience
  • Minimum of five years of multi-functional team leadership and cross-department project management experience
  • MRO contract development and administration experience preferred
  • Certified Purchasing Manager or Certified Professional in Supply Management preferred
  • Strongly preferred experience using AMOS and or TRAX systems for aircraft materials tracking and management
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently
  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and web-based systems
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • Able and willing to travel as required
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or currently authorized to work in the United States. STSES does not sponsor work visas

  • Willingness to comply with non-disclosure agreements and confidentiality policies
