Job Summary:This individual will effectively serve as Product Engineer and be a key member of the company's engineering team. This position will be responsible for providing engineering support to products in production as it relates to quality improvements, safety improvements, efficiency improvements and cost reductions. As owners of current products, the Product Engineering team manages engineering changes for any reason. Product Engineering includes support to manufacturing on root cause analysis, process troubleshooting, process improvements and support to field service.

This role partners with New Product Development, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing and Sourcing to address any technical issues impacting current products. The role is also responsible for the coordination of new product introductions to manufacturing, with significant involvement in development of manufacturing processes, test methods for new product features and qualification plans. The individual that works in this role can expect to work across functions daily.

Essential Duties, Responsibilities, and Key Results Area:

• Duties include research, evaluation, development, and application of new processes and methods into products. Responsible for establishing and conducting testing routines, developing or executing project plans, budgets, and schedules, and documentation of work and results.
• Responsible for working with development on manufacturability and assessing readiness of the product and process for start of production
• Apply statistical methods to characterize product performance for improved fact-based decision making
• Coordinate failure analysis to determine root cause and appropriate corrective actions
• Work encompasses one or more areas of engineering including electrical systems, mechanical, chemical, reliability engineering, failure analysis, tooling and/or other related fields
• Consolidate and communicate current product issues and EC details to development teams for continuous improvement generation to generation
• Product Engineer to work with New Product Development, Manufacturing Quality Engineering, Supplier Quality Engineering, and Advanced Manufacturing Engineering teams for new product introductions and ongoing support
• Vendor support and interface on technical issues/topics
• Develop and confirm test methodologies to validate product/process as it relates to new technology
• Develop and conduct engineering projects which will provide solutions to product issues consistent with solid Lean Quality Control principles
• Evaluate and discuss product issues with plant managers and non-technical personnel
• Identify methods of improving the productivity of existing systems, taking into consideration the use of latest technology

Other primary duties and responsibilities include the following; however, Management reserves the right to assign or reassign other appropriate duties to this job at any time. This document excludes the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties.

Salary Range: $81,000-$116,500

What You'll Need (Qualifications):

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field is required. (Master's degree preferred.)
• 4 years of related experience or training.
• Certification or specialized training in a related engineering area is desirable (Operations Excellence, Process, Manufacturing, Controls, Chemical, or Product).
