Job Description

Work schedule: Day Shift

PURPOSE:

To assist in LEAN / 5's development and implementation for continuous improvement. To assist in sustaining LEAN / 5's efforts. To assist and participate in other aspects of cost takeout initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Conduct observation studies.
  • Value stream map.
  • Provide assistance in conducting manufacturing team stand-ups.
  • Gather improvement ideas from manufacturing areas; provide direct feedback to team members regarding ideas and implement ideas. Coordinate with support areas if unable to directly implement an improvement idea.
  • Track implemented improvement ideas.
  • Work as part of a collaborative team to develop future strategies for LEAN / 5's and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Design, develop, and construct tools/shop aids to comply with LEAN and safety standards.
  • Assist in deploying other cost reduction initiatives.
  • Support daily maintenance of 5's in assigned areas.
  • Update/modify 5's systems as required in assigned areas.
  • Performs Audits for 5's in assigned areas and for other cost reduction initiatives as assigned.
  • Must comply with all applicable safety requirements, policies and procedures while maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Must participate in required training, medical monoriting, safety and health evaluations and programs.
  • Regular and predictable attendance.
  • Required overtime.
  • Performs other tasks as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of 3D modeling software.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to organize information and materials, and attend to details.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and to interact/coordinate activities with others.
  • Ability to lift and/or maneuver objects weighing thirty to fifty pounds and occasionally up to seventy-five pounds.
  • Ability to work in difficult working conditions which may include exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, temperature extremes, and other elements for extended periods of time.
  • PCC's Fork Lift Driving Safety Training must be completed, as assigned.
