The Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory (AzVDL), with the University of Arizona, seeks a Histotechnologist II.

Histology Technicians work in a fast-paced diagnostic environment that requires meeting daily production deadlines while maintaining precision and quality. Although many processes follow established workflows, workload volume and specimen types vary day to day, requiring flexibility and strong organizational skills. The Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory histology laboratory integrates advanced technology and automation, including digital slide imaging, with traditional hands-on staining and slide preparation techniques. Technicians collaborate closely with pathologists and may be involved in multiple stages of case processing. The laboratory's primary focus is diagnostic casework, with limited research submissions. Histology Technicians may be required to cross-train and provide support within the pathology section as operational needs dictate.

The Arizona Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory is a part of the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Arizona. It is accredited for all species by the American Association of Veterinary Laboratory Diagnosticians and is a member of the United States Department of Agriculture's National Animal Health Laboratory Network (NAHLN).

The AZVDL provides accurate and timely diagnostic assistance in animal health to veterinarians, animal owners, university researchers, and state and federal agencies. The submission of specimens through practicing veterinarians is encouraged, but specimens are also accepted from owners.
