Job Title:1st Class Electronic Technician Location:Lockport, LA Position Overview:An Electronic Technician lay's out, builds, tests installs, troubleshoots, repairs and modifies electrical and electronic components, parts, equipment and systems. Key Responsibilities:
- Able to provide guidance, training and direction to subordinate technicians.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electronic Technician.
- Must be to read and interpret drawing, schematics and other electrical/electronic technical documentation.
- Must be familiar with applicable commercial and Government specifications and codes.
- Must have comprehensive knowledge at component/system start up, testing, troubleshooting and repair.
* Possess in-depth knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and components, to include associated command and Fire & Smoke Detection Systems. Skills and Abilities:
- Discusses layout and assembly procedures and problems with Electrical Engineer.
- Develops sketches to clarify design details and functional criteria of electronic units.
- Assembles circuitry, performs terminations or conducts testing according to engineering instructions, technical manuals and knowledge of electronic systems and components.
- Recommends changes in circuitry or installation specifications to simplify assembly and maintenance.
- Sets up standard test apparatus or devises test equipment and circuitry to conduct functional, operational, environmental, and life cycle tests to evaluate performance and reliability of prototype or production model.
- Adjusts, calibrates, aligns, and modifies circuitry and components and records effects on unit performance.
- Writes technical reports and develops charts, graphs, and schematics to describe and illustrate system's operating characteristics, malfunctions, deviations from design specifications, and functional limitations.
- Checks functioning of newly installed equipment in vessels and structures to evaluate system performance under actual operating conditions.
