Description
As our Operation Planning Engineer Co-op, you'll analyze future operating conditions on the Bulk Electric System and help determine safe and reliable paths for maintenance and new construction. Your work ensures MISO can prepare for the grid of tomorrow.
A Great Day in This Role Means: You'll spend time running power flow studies and reviewing system models to evaluate how the grid will perform under future conditions. You'll work with engineers to analyze contingencies, identify potential reliability concerns, and support planning decisions that keep the grid safe and stable. You'll see your work make an impact when your analysis helps teams plan maintenance, support new infrastructure projects, and ensure the grid operates reliably for millions of people. Some college of Electrical Engineering (required)
Experience
Hands-on projects or internships related to grid modeling or system studies. (preferred)
Programming experience (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or C++). (preferred) Completion of Power Systems Analysis coursework. (preferred) Completion of core Electrical Engineering courses. (required) Skills
