*TekSystems is currently hiring for several Patient Access Specialist for the ED Department! *
*MUST HAVE: 1-3 years of medical receptionist, patient access, or medical front desk experience. EPIC is a plus but not required! Please review the shifts as well that are currently open! * *Description* 1.Admitting 8a-430p 2.Admitting 830a-5p 3.ED 8a-430p and every other weekend 4.ED 9a-530 and every other weekend 5.ED 3p-1130p and every other weekend 6.ED 11p-730a and every other weekend Currently the patient registration techs in the ED are divided into 3 areas and they will be trained on all areas- 1. Quick Book - this is the most basic patient registration when they walk into the ER. They will get the patient name, DOB, basic demographic info to get them checked in. There is no insurance verification at this point - they will go straight to the triage nurse to go over systems. 2. Minor Care - This is bed side registration for patients that should be in and out pretty quickly. Bed side registration includes -insurance verification to confirm active policy, co-payment collection, authorization data entry and billing inquiry functions. Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized systems - getting the rest of the demographic info needed 3. Main Treatment Area- this is the same process as minor care however these are for more serious patients - full registration They also have mental health registration, which they are seeing alot of recently Currently the ED is seeing alot of mental health, traumas, deaths, covid, monkey pox - need to be okay seeing alot of trauma Patient Access Tech in the Admitting Department. They will register all patients coming in for inpatient surgeries at the hospital. They will enter demographics, insurance information, collect copayments, have them sign a treatment patient obligation form. They will also be cross trained to register patients in the lab. The admitting department is on the first floor of the hospital and it is extremely busy - they get alot of patient volume come through - every patient who will be admitted to the hospital checks in here There are two openings for Patient Access Techs in the Admitting Department. They will register all patients coming in for inpatient surgeries at the hospital. They will enter demographics, insurance information, collect copayments, have them sign a treatment patient obligation form. They will also be cross trained to register patients in the lab. Under direction of departmental leadership, the Patient Access Technician provides clerical and secretarial support for the patient care team and serves as a patient liaison for medical support services. Greets, instructs, directs and assists patients and visitors upon arrival to the service area. Facilitates the revenue cycle process to include but not limited to patient registration, insurance verification to confirm active policy, co-payment collection, authorization data entry and billing inquiry functions. Responsible for accurate data collection, documentation, and data retrieval with computerized systems. Works collaboratively with various departments on patient access related information. Conducts pre-registration and entrance verification for CHKDHS services. Provides coverage to assigned registration locations including those outside of primary work location or by task assignment based on operational needs *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Have to be able to work in high volume and high pressure environment Strong customer service/patient experience - they are dealing with kids so this is huge for CHKD. This is the most important qualification Currently willing to train if no registration experience Just looking for strong customer service and ability to work in a fast paced environment EPIC experience would be helpful - all epic training is postponed right now due to covid Insurance Verification is helpful Billing/Coding understanding is helpful Strong computer skills - they work in EPIC, Eclipses, PowerChart and FirstNet Need to be comfortable dealing with the traumas that come in as well as all illnesses- covid, flu RSV *Job Type & Location*This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, VA. *Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
