Job Description




As a Security Officer Patrol Operations Associate in Brooklyn, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Shelter, and more. Join Allied Universal as an unarmed patrol officer at a shelter location, where you will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents, and support residents, guests, and staff with strong customer service and communication. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and/or staff by following site-specific procedures, access protocols, and emergency response guidelines at the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and sharing information with site leadership when appropriate.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the property, common areas, and perimeter to help identify unusual activity, facility concerns, and/or security-related issues.
  • Monitor entry and exit activity, verify authorized access when required, and report suspicious behavior, policy violations, and/or hazards according to post instructions.
  • Support a respectful environment within the shelter setting by using de-escalation techniques, assisting with directions and general inquiries, and maintaining a visible presence to help deter unwanted activity.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • CPR and First Aid certification is preferred.
  • CPR certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
