Overview

Nakupuna Solutions is looking for a SharePoint Developer to support the Office of the Executive Director (WHA/EX) within the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA) that provides centralized leadership, management, and operational support to advance the Bureau's mission. Within WHA/EX, the Systems Support Services function delivers critical information technology, systems administration, and customer support services that enable efficient and secure bureau operations. This includes managing enterprise systems, maintaining IT infrastructure, supporting end users, ensuring cybersecurity compliance, and coordinating with Department-wide service providers to implement technology solutions. Through responsive technical support and continuous systems improvement, WHA Systems Support Services enhances organizational effectiveness, facilitates communication and data management, and ensures staff have the tools necessary to carry out foreign policy objectives.

The SharePoint Developer is responsible for designing, delivering, and sustaining modern Microsoft 365 solutions that enhance collaboration, information management, and business operations across the organization. This role combines technical expertise with strategic planning to develop scalable, secure, and user-focused digital environments, while ensuring alignment with organizational priorities, governance standards, and compliance requirements. The incumbent works closely with stakeholders, leadership, and IT teams to translate business needs into effective solutions, drive continuous improvement through innovation and automation, and maintain a robust, well-managed platform that supports evolving mission and operational objectives.



Responsibilities

    Modernizes SharePoint & M365: Plans and implements scalable, secure, and user-centered solutions built on modern SharePoint (communication sites, team sites, and SPFx), integrated with Teams, OneDrive, Power Platform and AI tools.
  • Develops and administers the M365/SharePoint technical strategy, delivery, and governance.
  • Coordinates SharePoint administration, data management and training.
  • Develops SharePoint solutions using SPFx, PnP, REST/Graph APIs, and client-side
  • frameworks (e.g., React) while using Project Management methodologies.
  • Builds automation with Power Automate, applications with Power Apps, and data solutions leveraging Dataverse or SharePoint lists.
  • Designs and documents information architecture, taxonomy, and site templates (communication/team sites).
  • Supports Department developed applications with SharePoint integration.
  • Tracks Microsoft changes/EOL; maintains register and recommendations.
  • Serves as the primary liaison to business stakeholders and IT security.
  • Provides support to DT staff at Post by delivering guidance on SharePoint best practices and conducting audits to ensure compliance and optimal performance.
  • Presents IT-related topics to management and leadership, including during Management Officers (MO) conferences.
  • Manages tenant configuration for SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Exchange Online (as
  • needed).
  • Implements identity & access best practices in Microsoft Entra ID (AAD), including conditional access, MFA, and privileged access management.
  • Defines intake process, prioritization criteria, release cadences, and change approval workflows.
  • Maintains a product backlog and delivery roadmap; aligns to business OKRs and compliance
  • Establishes and maintains documentation standards, solution catalogs, site registries, and lifecycle registers


Qualifications

Skills/Qualifications: The ideal candidate possesses senior-level expertise in SharePoint development and administration, with extensive experience in SharePoint Online and the broader Microsoft 365 ecosystem, as well as a strong background in web development and modern client-side technologies. The candidate demonstrates advanced knowledge of cloud architecture and enterprise solution design, including experience building scalable, secure, and user-focused applications and workflows using both custom development and low-code/no-code tools. Familiarity with enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, ServiceNow, Identity Management Systems (IDMS), Google Workspace, AWS, Box, Slido, and Cisco WebEx is highly desirable. The candidate has experience developing technical strategies, governance frameworks, and solution architectures aligned to organizational objectives, as well as creating custom forms and integrated business solutions using out-of-the-box technologies. They bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with proficiency in qualitative and quantitative research methods, and the ability to drive consistent, high-quality performance. The role requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, including the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical audiences and senior leadership. The candidate must be highly organized, capable of managing multiple priorities across distributed teams, and able to work independently with minimal supervision. Additionally, they should have demonstrated experience teaching, coaching, and mentoring professionals, and be effective working in diverse, multicultural team environments.

Security clearance: Secret Clearance required. Must be a U.S. Citizen.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma
  • At least five (5) years of work experience in Information Technology support.

The Nakupuna Companies use a market-based compensation strategy to ensure that our employees are compensated within applicable market ranges commensurate with multiple factors, including but not limited to the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements, and position location. The projected compensation range for this position is $125,000.00 to $172,000.00 (annualized USD). The salary range displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Nakupuna Companies total compensation package for employees.
