Job Duties:
The Buyer will have existing procurement experience in the Aerospace & Defense (A&D) industry in a manufacturing or Research & Development (R&D) environment. The Buyer will have working knowledge of FAR, DFAR and/or NASA procurement regulations, price analysis and target pricing techniques, as well as prior experience procuring Custom Fab-to-Print commodities.

Required Skill Sets:
o 3-5 Years ERP Experience - SAP Preferred.
o Must be able to understand/read engineering drawings and BOM structure
o Experience working with mechanical/fabricated part drawings and technical spec understanding
o Experience working in partnership with internal stakeholders to ensure the organization"s needs are met while managing purchasing process procedures
o Work cross functionally with other departments such as Engineering, Quality, Material Program Manager, Planning, and Accounting to meet business needs
o Experience in procurement and/or vendor contract management is preferred
o Working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS) compliance
o Buy parts according to specifications ensuring compliance with company quality standards. Work with Suppliers to resolve quality issues
o Set and maintain accurate item lead times in the system and hold suppliers accountable to their commitments and to meet performance expectations
o Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
o Exhibits a high level to attention to detail
o Excellent scheduling and time management skills
o Have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, self-motivated, and be able to drive a process from start to finish

o Ability to thrive under pressure
o Working knowledge of vendor setup, PO packages, T&C negotiations, NDA processing, Cost Savings negotiations.
o *Mechanical Buying experience
o *Software buying experience
