POSITION SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for managing and growing accounts within the roads and civil construction sector. Emphasis will be placed on establishing a sustainable competitive advantage by delivering exceptional customer satisfaction, grounded in a deep understanding of how our stabilization and construction material solutions impact project performance, engineering design, and total cost of ownership-along with a strong awareness of competing products, technologies, and specifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS:

Sales Goals

  • Meet/Exceed all sales objectives
  • Maintain existing accounts
  • Understand the roads and civil Market where lime stabilization is applicable

Customer Service/Satisfaction

  • Establish new relationships with Contractors, Geotechnical companies, and DOT personnel. Gain understanding of project specifications
  • Resolve customer issues
  • Understand and know customer's business
  • Make clear and concise presentations to customers
  • Understand Lhoist production capabilities as well as our competition's
  • Understand customer business drivers (spec compliance, schedule, cost structure, equipment constraints, and performance criteria)
  • Deliver clear and effective presentations to engineering firms, DOT officials, and customers
  • Provide timely pricing, quotes, and submittals aligned with project requirements

Enhancing profitability

  • Budget and forecast sales accurately
  • Create and maintain long range sales plans
  • Develop market intelligence in existing and new territories
  • Analyze industry trends, DOT funding levels, competitive activity, and construction market cycles

Negotiating

  • Provide bids, quotes and prices that put LNA and customer in best possible position to achieve long term goals

Perform other duties

  • Support marketing, technical development programs, and industry outreach (ASCE, AEG, GeoInstitute, state DOT conferences, etc.)

ATTRIBUTES:

  • Understanding of Lhoist production, dispatch and transportation process
  • Ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, and deliver results
  • Strong relationship building skills both within LNA and with current and future customers
  • Strong problem-solving skills; strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate on all levels
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge of how the product can be used and sold to end customers
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Good understanding of safety within manufacturing environments
  • Must be capable of overnight travel up to 30% of time as needed or directed by leadership
  • Must have strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint software. Previous SAP knowledge is a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Must be physically able to perform work assigned
  • Tolerate working outside in severe weather conditions as well as exposure to industrial high temperature, noise and dust
  • Will be working in an office, mining, and lime processing (heavy industry) environment
  • The employee will be required to perform the following actions (from time to time): Standing, walking, balancing, stooping, kneeling, reaching, talking, seeing, hearing and sitting
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field of study (Engineering, Building Science, Chemistry, Metallurgical, Biology, etc.) or equivalent work experience in the field is required

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

  • Master's degree in Business or Finance is a plus

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have at least 5 years or more technical experience in roads and civil, construction design, building science, or heavy industry; Similar level of Sales and account management experience

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE:

  • 8 years or more experience as listed above.
