Overview

Electric Boat is seeking an Assistant General Counsel to serve as a critical team member in support of the nation's premier designer and builder of nuclear submarines

Key Responsibilities include:

    Engage regularly with various Electric Boat functional groups including: Contracts, Program Office leads, and Finance
  • Participate in negotiations of multi-billion-dollar Government Contracts as well as significant vendor contracts, and provide comprehensive counsel throughout performance of those contracts
  • Support drafting and submission of Requests for Equitable Adjustment, Claims, and associated litigations
  • Collaborate with business leads in response to external audits (e.g. DCMA, GAO)
  • Review and negotiate Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Actively manage Outside Counsel
  • Other responsibilities as may be assigned


Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) Degree from an accredited law school and an active license to practice law in Connecticut or must be able to obtain licensing in Connecticut

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 4 years practicing law in either a law firm, government agency, or in-house specializing in transactions
  • Experience negotiating Government Contracts and strong familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Have or be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense Top Secret level security clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant former Government experience
  • Experience with ITAR and EAR compliance
  • Familiarity with Government Regulations related to:
    • Post Government Employment
    • Conflicts of Interest
    • Freedom of Information Act
    • Foreign Corrupt Practices Act
