Job Summary:

RWJBH is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider Lead for the Cardiac APP service line,

This role will have responsibilities in all areas of cardiac surgery including ICU, Floor with a focus in cardiac surgery operating room,

Essential Functions:

  • The Lead APP will work with the leadership team to help manage day to day operations of the cardiac surgery service
  • The candidate must be comfortable with working in all areas but must have significant operating room knowledge and skill including but not limited to, endoscopic vein harvesting, groin cut downs with cannulation of great vessels, first assist skills on complex cardiac cases and placing sternal wires and chest closure
  • The candidate will work with the other lead to provide administrative support and oversite of training new staff in all areas as well as providing education on topics such as management of ECMO, Impella, Heart mate 3
  • The position is a clinical position with 80% of the work being clinical and 20% being administrative,

Education:

  • Graduate of an Acute Care NP program
  • Graduate of RNFA program with demonstrated skill in cardiac surgery first assisting and vein taking
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program

Experience:

  • 4-7 years of demonstrated high functioning cardiac experience at a large academic center
  • Demonstrated leadership role in the past preferred
  • Experience with working at top of license with autonomy in all clinical areas

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Current NJ APN PA license required
  • NCCPA certification required
  • CDS required
  • DEA required
  • RN required
  • RNFA certification required if going to work in operating room
  • BLS required
  • ACLS required
