Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Industrial Engineering Intern to join our Operations team for Summer 2026. This internship is ideal for a sophomore or junior pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field who is interested in hands-on experience in process improvement, operational efficiency, and data-driven decision-making. As an intern, you'll work closely with our engineering and operations leaders to support real-world projects that improve productivity, streamline workflows, enhance quality, and optimize resource utilization. You will gain exposure to lean methodologies, time studies, data analysis tools, and manufacturing/operations best practices. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in analyzing operational processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Conduct time studies, workflow mapping, and waste analysis to support lean initiatives.
  • Support development of standard work instructions, visual controls, and process documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and interpret operational data to support decision-making.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement events.
  • Create dashboards, charts, and reports summarizing findings and recommendations.
  • Support layout design, ergonomics assessments, and capacity planning.
  • Perform other engineering tasks as assigned to support ongoing projects within Operations.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore or junior in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data analysis tools (Power BI, Minitab, or similar) is a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Detailoriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work full-time during Summer 2026.
Preferred:
  • Coursework or experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or process improvement tools.
  • Experience with CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous internship or project experience in manufacturing or operations environments.
  • Creating a Capacity Model

The hourly pay range for this position, which could be performed in the US, is $19/HR - $21/HR.*
