Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering The Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department is one of the largest academic units at Missouri S&T and supports both undergraduate and graduate education. The department conducts instruction, laboratory activities, and sponsored research across a broad range of engineering areas and secures substantial research funding to support these efforts. Facilities provide opportunities for hands-on learning and research engagement, contributing to both instructional and scholarly activity. Ongoing and future initiatives, including the Protoplex building, expand research and collaboration space for students, faculty, and industry partners.
Job Description
The Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Department at Missouri S&T is a large, research-active department supporting both undergraduate and graduate education. We are seeking a detail-oriented professional to support our graduate programs and help ensure a smooth experience for students and faculty.
- Support graduate student onboarding, appointments, and funding processes (assistantships, fellowships, offer letters)
- Track and monitor student progress toward degree completion
- Serve as a key resource for graduate students, providing guidance on processes, deadlines, and requirements
- Coordinate with faculty on student support, hiring, and program needs
- Maintain accurate records and assist with reporting for departments and campus use
- Help manage graduate-related accounts and expenditures
- Assist with meetings, seminars, and general departmental operations
- Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Anticipated Hiring Range
The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $15.50-$20.32 hourly. Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
