The Director of Product Marketing / Cybersecurity, leads outbound marketing activities for a product line and is responsible for presenting our products in ways that will strengthen our brand and boost sales. The Director will work closely with the marketing department to ensure we have effective content and are driving demand and new partner acquisition.


What You'll Do

  • Leadership/Supervisory Role: Directly responsible for the success of the products within the product line and will collaborate with product personnel to drive growth within those products. This will be done through effective messaging, message testing, positioning, sales and channel engagement, and the development of supporting content, such as case studies, videos, website content, sales emails, and much more.
  • Team Growth: The director plays a role transcending that of a supervisor. This person acts as a confidant to the VP, of Product Marketing and serves in support of all members of the product marketing team, constantly assisting and guiding them in the performance of their functions, as needed. The director ensures that the product marketing personnel are constantly growing and improving their professional skills.
  • Customer and Competitive Intelligence: Identify and validate urgent, pervasive problems in the market and map theme to how our solutions solve those problems. Have a great understanding of competitor and alternative offerings in the market, assess their strengths and weaknesses, and develop a strategy for winning against the competition.
  • Product Positioning and Messaging: Describe the product in terms of its ability to solve market problems and create crisp and compelling messages that drive market acceptance and growth. Capture the imagination of IT professionals with a fresh and creative approach. Tell stories that resonate both with MSPs and VARs.
  • Thought Leadership: Generate insightful & compelling content (webinars, blogs, e-books, etc.) to influence partners, buyers, industry specialists, research analysts, key editors in the press, and other third parties. Act as spokesperson for the N-able Security Operations product line. Conduct regular analyst briefings.
  • Sales Tools: Work closely with sales to understand their challenges and needs, relative to selling the offering and create and maintain a playbook of sales tools to help sales succeed, including, IP decks, sales talk track, buyer insights, key messages, case studies and sales collateral.
  • Event and Sales Support: Provide product and market expertise for tradeshows, webinars, and seminars. Provide ongoing support for the sales channel.
  • Sales Training: Design and deliver training programs to help salespeople focus on how to sell the N-able suite of products.
  • Working with a global team of tightly coupled, cross-functional, highly talented, and experienced professionals. There is a high focus on execution and organization, while still allowing for opportunity or experimentation.

What You'll Bring

  • Deep understanding of the cybersecurity market. Experience with XDR and MDR marketing is highly preferred
  • Working knowledge of the MSP and VAR market - an understanding of their priorities, their challenges and how to market to them.
  • AI forward. Must have experience leveraging AI to bring efficiency and speed in the marketing function.
  • Demonstrative analytical skills, as well as a passion for product analysis, competitive analysis, and market dynamics, with a strong ability to synthesize market data and provide solutions, even on short notice or constrained deadlines
  • Creative ability to craft product messaging that resonates and connects with the diverse demographics of the target buyers and users of the N-able products, as well as directly answering to the stakeholders for the activities and performances of the product marketing team
  • Leadership skills are an absolute necessity; one must display and have the ability to influence junior personnel and collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive toward a single unified direction
  • Possess an apparent and seasoned business judgment that will earn the trust and respect of the team, peers, and executives
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex material to both technical teams and consumers, in a way that relates effectively to each audience
  • Ability to navigate and thrive in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment on a global scale
  • Experience producing creative, technical content, and acting as a key influencer and spokesperson in the market
  • 10+ years experience in product marketing
  • Experience marketing or selling IT solutions
  • Experience connecting with and relating to executives, product management, product marketing, demand generation, sales, sales engineering, and global channels
  • Master's Degree is preferred
