The Security Analyst at DataBank is a key player in our Security Architecture team. With a focus on Threat Hunting and Vulnerability Management, this role is central to proactively safeguarding DataBank's network of data centers across the United States. The analyst will utilize advanced tools and techniques to discover, identify, and mitigate hidden cyber threats and vulnerabilities, ensuring robust security for the infrastructure supporting our business. Responsibilities include conducting in-depth investigations to detect emerging threats, performing vulnerability assessments, and prioritizing risks for effective remediation. The role demands not only technical acumen in cybersecurity but also strong communication skills for collaborating with various teams and articulating complex security concepts to diverse stakeholders. In this role, you will be instrumental in enhancing DataBank's cybersecurity posture, staying ahead of evolving threats, and ensuring the continuous protection of our infrastructure and data. Duties: The major duties of the Security Analyst, emphasizing advanced cybersecurity skills and the ability to interact effectively with various IT systems and data, are as follows:
- Develop Cybersecurity Strategies: Formulate comprehensive cybersecurity strategies for threat hunting and vulnerability management, integrating advanced tools and methodologies.
- Proactive Threat Identification: Utilize cutting-edge technologies and techniques to proactively search for and identify latent threats within the network.
- Vulnerability Assessment and Management: Conduct regular scans and assessments to identify and prioritize system vulnerabilities.
- Collaboration with Business Stakeholders: Work closely with the business to ensure effective implementation of cybersecurity measures.
- Professional Communication: Maintain a professional demeanor and communicate effectively with peers and stakeholders. Explain complex cybersecurity concepts to non-technical professionals, aligning cybersecurity goals with overall business objectives.
- Cybersecurity Policies and Standards: Review and suggest cybersecurity policies and guidelines, aligning with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Draft Technical Documents: Prepare reports, technical specifications, and baselines for cybersecurity implementations.
- Stay Informed on Cybersecurity Trends: Keep up to date with cybersecurity attack vectors, threats, and trends.
- Expertise in Cybersecurity Tools and Systems: Possess extensive operational knowledge of industry-standard cybersecurity tools such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, NAC, and firewalls.
- Validate Cybersecurity Implementations: Confirm the satisfactory implementation of cybersecurity controls.
- Respond to Cybersecurity Incidents: Participate in on-call rotations to address security alerts, incidents, and system outages.
- Conduct Cybersecurity Inspections, Risk, and Vulnerability Studies: Perform inspections and studies, or use the same produced by others to improve the protection of DataBank's infrastructure and data.
- Represent DataBank's Security Solutions group in meetings: Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders related to cybersecurity.
- Develop Cybersecurity-Related Documents and Reports: Produce documents, spreadsheets, graphs, reports, and presentations using various software, including Microsoft Office, PowerBI, and cybersecurity system software.
Required skills / Qualifications:
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects of various size concurrently, independently or with cross-functional teams, prioritizing tasks to efficiently manage time and ensure SLAs and stakeholder expectations are met.
- Exemplary communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills including the ability to translate technical terms and concepts into business terms for internal and external stakeholders.
- Deep technical understanding of current cyber security threats, trends, and mitigations such as malware variants and mitigation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with industry-standard cybersecurity tools, including vulnerability management, identity and access management, SIEM, IDS/IPS, EDR/XDR, file integrity monitoring, NAC, and firewalls.
- Knowledge and ability to identify web attack vectors, e.g., SQL injection, XSS, CSRF, and session-hijacking.
- Knowledge and ability to automate tasks using common scripting languages (i.e. bash, PowerShell, Python, etc.)
- Intermediate Linux and Windows Server OS Administration capabilities.
- Requires High School Diploma and a minimum of 2 years of specific security experience. Security knowledge or equivalent is typically acquired through the completion of a Bachelor's degree or relevant security or certifications such as SSCP, GSEC, GCIH, or CISSP.
