THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

The primary purpose of the Vendor Data Management Unit Management Technician is receiving, validating, monitoring, and processing the critical, sensitive, and confidential vendor, customer, and business partner data for Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Internal Revenue Service (IRS) 1099 reporting purposes for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. You will be responsible for research and making decisions with regard to mitigating risk of vendor fraud. Our team will rely on you to ensure that specific quality and timeliness standards in performance of duties including:

  • Data Review: Process vendor and customer registrations to confirm accuracy and resolve issues
  • System Updates: Enter and maintain vendor master data in internal accounting systems
  • Regulation Compliance: Follow proper procedures for state and federal rules and regulations related to tax forms, payment methods, and documentation
  • Fraud Prevention: Validate banking details and perform additional research into discrepancies to minimize fraud
  • Customer Support: Respond to inquiries clearly and professionally by phone, email, or fax

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch. Alternate Work Schedules (AWS) are available for eligible employees upon completion of the probationary period.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with occasional in-office days when work dictates such requirements. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $45,907 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of advanced clerical or para-professional work which included the collection, recording, compilation, and presentation of office management or program related information, or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training. An Associate's Degree may be substituted for two years of required experience.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must have at least at least two years of experience with advanced problem solving and data collection.
  • You must have at least two years of experience with issue research and fraud prevention.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Two years of customer service experience
  • Two years of experience using SAP/SRM accounting screens and transactions
  • Two years of experience using ORACLE/CFIN
  • Type at least 40 words per minute
