Geosyntec has an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Environmental Engineer or Geologist to plan and deliver complex groundwater, remediation, and water resources projects across Arizona from our Phoenix office. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Lead environmental investigation and remediation projects from scoping through closeout, managing work plans, schedules, budgets, subcontractors, and deliverable quality.
  • Evaluate contaminated sites and develop remediation approaches (e.g., feasibility studies, removal action work plans, remedial design plans).
  • Plan and oversee field programs (drilling and well installation, sampling events, groundwater treatment system O&M), coordinating contractors and ensuring safe execution and high-quality data.
  • Interpret groundwater, soil, and water-quality data to support remedial decisions, performance evaluation, and stakeholder communication.
  • Prepare, review, and quality-check technical reports, calculations packages, and regulatory submittals; coordinate directly with regulatory agencies.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for clients and stakeholders; communicate proactively, lead meetings/status updates, and resolve technical and delivery issues.
  • Manage project financials (forecasting, invoicing support, change management, and margin performance) and identify/mitigate schedule and cost risks early.
  • Develop scopes of work, budgets, and proposals; support business development through client relationship building and identification of follow-on opportunities.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior staff; coordinate multi-disciplinary teams; and promote strong health and safety practices.
  • Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed.


Education and Licensure

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or a related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in the same. (preferred)
  • Professional registration (i.e., P.E. P.G.) (required)


Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • At least 7 years (8+ years preferred) of direct environmental consulting experience focused on remediation, site investigation, and groundwater programs; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Demonstrated experience with site assessment and remedial investigation. (required)
  • Experience with multi-disciplinary project teams. (required)
  • Experience producing clear, defensible technical reports and regulatory submittals; strong technical writing and QA/QC skills. (required)
  • Proficiency in planning and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgets, including oversight of subcontractors and vendors. (required)
  • Proven success in the development and management of clients and leadership skills. (required)
  • Experience supporting groundwater treatment technologies such as pump-and-treat, SVE, carbon adsorption, and system optimization. (preferred)
  • Familiarity with Safe Drinking Water Act standards and Arizona Revised Statutes/Arizona Administrative Code interpretation. (preferred)
  • Experience with Aquifer Protection Permits, AZPDES, groundwater monitoring network design, and water availability studies. (preferred)
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handling multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client facilities as needed. (required)
  • Excellent writing and communication skills. (required)
  • Active participation in relevant professional associations and/or local technical committees. (preferred)
  • Field work and overnight travel may be required.
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training (with current refreshers). (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
