Description

The Key Account Executive will maintain a high level of sales activity sufficient to ensure retention and revenue growth by generating new national business at the corporate level and maintaining the needs of current national contract customers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Sell new products and services to prospective national customers.
  • Work with national contacts of assigned accounts to cultivate new sales growth.
  • Enhance the revenue of current customer relationships in the assigned territory
  • Reach assigned sales quotas and facilitate the same for the entire sales department.
  • Research and monitor all sales channels, business directories, industry ads, trade shows, web sites, and other resources to respond to any and all opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Travel to prospective customers to proactively sell to all individuals within an organization and to maintain frequent and effective customer contact.
  • Develop multiple contacts within customer organizations to ensure optimization of a new programs and enhanced service.
  • Demonstrate product and serve benefits using samples, catalog, and technology available (laptop, iPad, etc.) to emphasize salable features through written submissions and presentations.
  • Make presentations to individuals or groups using standard Company presentation materials and be prepared to modify from time to time to meet specific opportunities.
  • Present product samples as needed to customer or prospects for review and be capable of explaining the benefits and features.
  • Stay current on all new products and services in order to present all options available.
  • Coordinate the effort of each department within the Company throughout new national account processes and any changes to existing relationships.
  • Communicate with all necessary and involved corporate or local personnel to ensure quality customer service.
  • Resolve conflicts or customer complaints in collaboration with other Company personnel.
  • Track any problems/issues/complaints to final resolution.
  • Utilize Customer Relationship Management Software (CRM) for recording customer and prospect information, activity and reporting.
  • Manage or attend Company or industry or customer trade shows and events which may require travel outside the territory.
  • Assist in collection initiatives when requested.
  • Operate within expense budget.


Required Key Skills and Qualifications:

Core Supervisor/Manager Skills and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or Management or a minimum of eight (6) to ten (10) years of experience in an outside sale role or combination of education and experience.
  • Advanced level of experience in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience in reading and understanding contracts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, and business correspondences.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, and percentages.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to multitask and maintain organization.
  • Able to travel fifty percent (50%) of the time.


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Remote: This position operates in a remote environment. Work is performed primarily using a computer, phone, and virtual collaboration tools. The employee must have a dedicated, distractionfree workspace with reliable internet access that supports online meetings, data security, and consistent productivity. Work is generally sedentary, involving extended periods in a stationary position with periodic movement as needed.

The employee is expected to maintain availability during agreedupon business hours and attend required meetings via video or teleconference. Remote schedules must not interfere with normal interactions between the employee, their supervisor, coworkers, or customers, and must support the team's ability to meet business needs.

Confidential information must be handled securely at all times, including proper storage, password protection, and adherence to company security protocols. Employees must ensure their remote environment supports safe, compliant work practices and upholds company standards for professionalism, communication, and responsiveness. Performance expectations for remote employees are consistent with onsite roles, including meeting deadlines, attending meetings, and maintaining regular communication with leadership.

Outside Sales: This role operates primarily in an outside sales environment involving regular travel within an assigned territory. Work is performed in a variety of settings-including customer locations, trade events, retail partners, industrial sites, and occasional corporate or regional office visits. The environment may include frequent driving or flying, variable weather conditions, and entering diverse customer facilities with unique safety or access requirements.

The position requires regular inperson engagement with customers and prospective accounts, including product presentations, meetings, relationshipbuilding activities, and onsite assessments. Employees must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in all customer-facing interactions.

Work hours may vary based on customer schedules and territory needs. Evening or occasional weekend work may be required for customer visits, events, or travel. Administrative tasks such as email communication, order entry, CRM updates, followup calls, and reporting may be completed from a home office, vehicle, or remote workspace using companyapproved technology.

Employees are expected to safely operate a vehicle, manage travel routes efficiently, and follow all Company expectations regarding communication, responsiveness, professionalism, and secure handling of information. A valid driver's license may be required depending on the role.
