Military Flight Controls Division Supporting aircraft worldwide, Parker Aerospace's Military Flight Controls Division (MFCD) provides primary and secondary flight control systems that make flight possible. Tested, proven and trusted in commercial and military applications for decades, MFCD provides precise position-control actuation solutions for military aircraft across the United States and with foreign partners. The division's JetPipe electrohydraulic servovalve (EHSV) technology is used across commercial and military aircraft around the world. Headquartered in Irvine, California, the Military Flight Controls Division is the global leader in fly-by-wire flight control systems and electrohydraulic products and offers the world's most advanced motor design capabilities for flight controls.

Summary:

Obtains the best quality, service, and value for products and services through effective bidding, negotiation, and supplier management. Identifies and selects suppliers, initiates purchase orders, and arranges for delivery. Provides parts, equipment, services, and materials of limited scope and complexity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages purchase orders for all outside processing services using the company's approved vendor list
  • Coordinates with production, planning, and shipping teams to ensure parts are sent to the correct outside processors on time
  • Schedules and tracks outsourced services including plating, coating, painting, heat treatment, machining, and finishing
  • Monitors vendor turnaround times, delivery performance, and quality results
  • Expedites urgent orders to prevent production delays
  • Resolves vendor issues related to missed deadlines or non-conforming work
  • Issues purchase orders and agreements that accurately reflect price, schedule, terms, and conditions as negotiated with suppliers
  • Maintains accurate lead times for assigned commodities
  • Evaluates bids for standard and non-standard items
  • Negotiates price, delivery, quality, and service
  • Monitors and evaluates supplier performance
  • Communicates delivery status to internal customers
  • Resolves and settles damage claims, rejections, losses, return of materials, over-shipments, cancellations, and engineering changes with suppliers
  • Participates in continuous improvement activities and provides suggestions for cost reduction and improved efficiency
  • Complies with federal, state, and aerospace industry regulations; ensures adherence to requirements and advises management on needed actions
  • Complies with Government/Commercial Practices Manual (GPM/CPM) policies and procedures


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (BA) in Business Administration or related field.
  • At least 1 year of experience in buyer role.
  • Knowledge of key purchasing and negotiating methods, principles and concepts and general business operations
  • Ability to use standard business application software and specialized purchasing and/or materials systems (e.g. electronic data interface (EDI) or manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems)
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, and percentages
  • Ability to research and analyze data and develop recommendations or resolve problems by drawing on internal information and referring to prior decisions
  • Ability to work with general work instructions regarding the scope of assignments and determine priority and order of assignments
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to negotiate effectively to obtain the best price and terms

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $72650 to $121050 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
