Manager Pharmacy Job Responsibilities:
- Assumes staffing responsibilities in the role of the Pharmacist to ensure smooth operations of the Pharmacy.
- Supervises and instructs Pharmacists, performs competence assessments and identifies staff education needs.
- Pharmacist in Charge and responsible for growing Infusion and oncology business.
- Maintains compliance with DEA, Virginia Board of Pharmacy, federal and state laws, including drug storage, security systems, and dispensing.
- Leads operations to include preventing drug diversion, proper record retention, audit compliance, hiring, training and staffing.
- Provides training and education to Pharmacists regarding pharmaceutical care and pharmacoeconomic principles.
- Supports the Pharmacy's pharmacoeconomic efforts and targeted compliance programs while providing clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners and patients.
- Monitors drug therapy regimens for contraindications, drug/drug interactions, drug/food interactions, adverse drug reactions and appropriateness of drug and dose.
- Participates in community educational programs and contributes to the advancement of the profession through presentations at local, state and national meetings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelors Degree.
- Experience: Five (5) years' experience as Pharmacist.
- Licensure: Registered Pharmacist is Virginia
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 3 months of hire.
- Management experience in leading an infusion pharmacy.
- Must have experience in oncology and in infusion.
- Hazardous drug compounding experience.
