Market Development Manager - Advanced Materials

Location: Norton, MA

Salary: $80,000 - $140,000

Additional Pay: Commission

Schedule: Regular Business Hours

Advantage Technical is partnering with a leading advanced materials manufacturer in Norton, MA to place a Market Development Manager who can own a strategic growth segment from the ground up. If you're a technical seller who bridges engineering and business development - and thrives in long-cycle, high-stakes markets - this is your role.

What You'll Do (Job Duties)



  • Own a strategic market segment - develop and execute growth plans, build pipeline, and secure design wins
  • Identify emerging applications and technology trends aligned with advanced materials capabilities including metal matrix composites, tungsten and nickel superalloy injection molded components, and radiation shielding solutions
  • Build relationships with engineering, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders across target accounts
  • Engage customers early in development cycles to influence specifications and material selection
  • Lead opportunities from concept through production, coordinating internal engineering, operations, and quality teams
  • Develop proposals, negotiate commercial terms, and manage pipeline forecasting via CRM
  • Represent the company at trade shows, technical conferences, and customer events
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 50%


What You Bring



  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Chemistry, or related technical discipline
  • 5+ years in technical sales, market development, applications engineering, product management, or business development
  • Experience selling engineered products, advanced materials, precision components, or complex manufacturing solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, multi-year sales cycles and develop new business
  • Strong ability to engage both technical and executive audiences
  • Experience in one or more of: Aerospace & Defense, Energy/Power Generation, Medical Devices, Advanced Manufacturing, or Specialty Materials
