POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cost-Price Leader partners closely with management to achieve strategic pricing objectives. The role applies cost accounting principles to collect and analyze diverse and complex historical and estimated cost and pricing data. It prepares economically feasible bids and cost proposals and performs risk analysis to support business proposals. May have direct reports and is responsible for their recruitment, development, and engagement. This role generally reports to the Pricing Manager.

ESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the cost and price management function for the assigned Sales Company, country, or segment to drive margin expansion and support revenue growth goals.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for cost and price management processes and systems, targeting reductions in waste and cycle time while improving cost accuracy, price integrity, and overall margin realization.
  • Partner with cross-functional to define requirements and drive the deployment and enhancement of cost and pricing systems, analytics, and reporting capabilities.
  • Determine the cost of unique and complex products and services, ensuring cost models reflect current manufacturing processes and cost drivers.
  • Develop and document cost proposal rationale and detailed cost breakdowns with supporting data for bids, proposals, and major customer opportunities.
  • Identify and define key cost and pricing factors required to support accurate cost/price development, risk assessments, and management decision-making.
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs versus standards and provide variance reports and insights to improve margin and profitability.
  • Ensure cost and pricing practices comply with applicable Federal, State, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct product and market research to understand competitive cost and price positioning and incorporate findings into pricing and proposal strategies.
  • Provide cost and pricing inputs for initial customer contracts and proposals, ensuring alignment with strategic pricing objectives and margin targets.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, Marketing, or related field. Advanced degree and professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) preferred.
  • 4 to 6 years of progressive experience in cost accounting, pricing, financial analysis, or related roles.
  • Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles (standard costing, variance analysis, overhead allocation, cost drivers) and their application to product costing and pricing decisions.
  • Demonstrated experience determining costs for complex or custom products and preparing cost proposals, bids, or quotations for customers.
  • Familiarity with relevant Federal, State, and other regulatory requirements affecting cost and pricing compliance (e.g., commercial contracts; government contracts if applicable).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong skills with ERP and financial systems; experience with data/query or BI tools is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and risk-assessment skills, with the ability to handle diverse and complex cost and pricing data.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner with other functions to develop sound cost/price recommendations.

Competitive Compensation

  • Pay Range: $100300 to $166900 annually
  • Participation in Annual Incentive Program
