Pay Range: $ 15.00 - $16.00

The pay range is based on consideration of criteria such as required qualifications, experience, education and skills. Marquette Bank reserves the right to offer the selected applicant a salary commensurate with the applicant's qualification, experience, education and skills.

Position Summary:

Sr. Financial Advisor provides clients with advice on financial matters, making recommendations on ways to best utilize their money. This involves researching the marketplace and advising clients on products and services available, ensuring they are aware of and understand those that best meet their needs, and then securing sales.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contacting clients and setting up meetings, either within an office environment or in client's homes or business premises.
  • Conducting in-depth reviews of client's financial circumstances, current provision and future aims.
  • Analyzing information and preparing plans best suited to individual clients' requirements.
  • Completing risk analyses
  • Researching the marketplace and providing clients with information on new and existing products and services
  • Designing financial strategies
  • Assisting clients to make informed decisions
  • Researching information from various sources, including providers of financial products
  • Reviewing and responding to clients changing needs and financial circumstances
  • Promoting and selling financial products to meet given or negotiated sales targets
  • Negotiating with product suppliers for the best possible rates
  • Liaising with head office and financial services providers
  • Keeping up to date with financial products and legislation
  • Contacting clients with news of new financial products or changes to legislation that may affect their savings and investments
  • Meeting the regulatory aspects of the role, e.g. requirements for disclosure, costs of the services provided and also the advised products.
  • Perform job-related responsibilities that support departmental and organizational goals, consistent with the scope and purpose of the position.
  • Actively comply with all applicable laws and regulations to include the Bank Secrecy Act, the Community Reinvestment Act, and all other deposit, lending, or non-deposit service regulations; adhering to the Bank's internal policies, procedures, and risk management responsibilities contained in the Employee Handbook, the Employee Code of Conduct, and other applicable policies.

Knowledge/Abilities/Experience and Training Required:

  • College Degree in business or related field required
  • Minimum (5) years industry experience
  • Working knowledge of investment products, terms and procedures
  • Illinois Insurance License
  • Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 License
  • Demonstrated and maintain high level of sales success
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, listening, telephone, written and communication skills
  • Must possess a working knowledge of a personal computer, software applications and spreadsheets
  • Must have exceptional time management skills
  • Demonstrated ability to handle difficult and sensitive business situations.
  • Solid analytical, technical, creative and problem-solving abilities
  • Must remain current in product knowledge, bank promotions and system operations
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and direct projects
