The University of Virginia is a highly competitive Division I program committed to academic and athletic excellence. The Department of Athletics at the University of Virginia is currently seeking a dual certified Athletic Trainer / Physical Therapist to support the Sports Medicine program. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Anticipated hiring range: $95,000-$105,000, dependent upon qualifications. Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor's Degree. Experience: Two years of certified athletic trainer experience in an NCAA institutional athletic environment Certified Athletic Trainer per the National Athletic Trainers Association Board of Certification (NATABOC) and the CPR/AED certifications. Valid driver's license and personal transportation. Preferred Qualifications Education: Masters or Doctoral Degree. Preferred experience includes: 3+ years' experience working in a Division I-A institution. NBA experience. First Aid/CPR Instructor. Experience working in the supervision and education of student interns and graduate assistants. Experience providing Sports Medicine coverage for men's basketball and/or acute injuries Experience with performance technologies / movement assessments / post-operative rehabilitation Licensure: CES, PES, FMS, cupping, and/or Graston certifications preferred. About the Position Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently bending/stooping, reaching (overhead, extensive, and repetitive); Repetitive motion: computer keyboard. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 50 - 100lbs. May be exposed to noise, radiation, radioactive materials, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. Salary will be dependent upon qualifications.
